World Cup reaches fan milestone; extra England tickets go on sale

Johannesburg - The number of fans attending World Cup matches in South Africa was set to exceed the 2-million mark later Thursday when New Zealand took on Paraguay in Polokwane, the ruling body FIFA revealed.

An extra 1,000 tickets have also been available by football's ruling body for Sunday's much anticipated Round of 16 match between England and Germany in Bloemfontein.

The returned tickets, which can be purchased through the FIFA.com website or FIFA's call centre are likely to sell out almost immediately as the 1,000 extra tickets for Argentina's match with Mexico made available Wednesday where snapped up within 15 minutes.

US fans will have an easier job of getting their hands on a ticket for their Round of 16 game with Ghana on Saturday in Rustenburg as 6,000 have been returned.
