He did. Beauchamp had a surplus of 8 in the one on one duels. This was a game high for the Spcceroos.

He had a 96% passing rate, albeit playing for safe options.

He also made 3 really difficult, superbly timed tackles in parts of the pitch where it was critical that he won them.

Beauchamp and Neill successfully negated the giant Zigic.

I'd go as far to suggest that Moore and Beauchamp may have outperformed Neill as centre backs at the World Cup. If Australia had gone further, Neill may have been able to fill the left back position.
