I like how he said this was the best performance for Serbia in the world cup.
They topped their WC qualifying group and had only something like 6 goals scored against them - we scored two in one match and had further chances!
It really was a great game for Australia and hopefully it can restore a little bit of respect for us in Europe after the Germany debacle.

Surely the Serbians are out of their freaking minds if they believe the ref is to blame for their inability to get a result out of the game. We took more of our chances, and they took less of their own better chances - stiff bikkies, that's the way the cookie crumbles!
And no ref in their right mind could have awarded that penalty with a clear conscience - the ball was headed into the back of Cahill's arm from point blank range whilst he was looking in the other direction. The Serbians need their brains checked - what part of his actions was deliberate?

Given the quality of players at Serbia's disposal, it should not have even come down to a contentious handball 'penalty' in the last game. What went wrong Serbia?

I think Serbia are probably in a bit of shock. You beat Germany in the group stages (who the hell does that?). And yet you loose to Ghana and Australia. If you cant beat or even draw against Ghana or Australia you dont deserve to get to the round of 16.

That being said i reckon both Serbia and Australia were better then Ghana. African teams are the most overated rubbish in the world of football. Asian teams are the most underated and european teams are a mixed bag. South Americans are leading the charge if you ask me.

The only points the Serbs got was thanks to a red card to Germany and a lucky defense. At least the Serbs had game deciding decisions go for them.

I'm with Davstar on this one. Ghana got through to the final 16 with the only goals they've scored being from penalties. In reality, I think both Serbia and Australia were better than Ghana. We outplayed Ghana in that second half despite being down to 10 men. Nuff said.

And the Serbs went into the final game resting a couple of players who were on yellow cards to make sure they weren't suspended for their round of 16 match. Anyone detect a bit of arrogance in that?

Asian teams are doing very well, South Korea and Japan are playing well and if Australia didn't shoot themselves in the foot it would have bee a third Asian team in the round of 16.
