The old tackle button. You could pretty much just hold it down and the player would chase down the ball on his own. I didn't really use it all as it always felt like cheating. :lol:

RB/R1 will call the second defender towards the ball carrier.

There is a second man pressure button, but he just jockeys the player.

Sounds like a quality improvement. It was pretty dodgy that you could just send any player to tackle and have yours wait behind/block potential passes. Pretty keen to give it a go.

I'm getting used to the defending now; made some nice tackles. It's good that you get a feeling of accomplishment when you time them right, in the old FIFA it was just far too easy to do.

Yeah, I love the new defending as a concept, but I'm struggling with it. Starting to hold my own against the big clubs though.

Messi just raped me and scored two goals against Milan. The first goal from about 25 yards, I thought I did well to get the block in but it just deflected the ball perfectly over my keeper. Getting a player sent off probably didn't help. :lol:

This! In FIFA 11 only attacking was interesting so you'd be bored against someone who kept possession well. It's a fantastic concept, and once we all re-train ourselves it'll be a much more fun game to play.

Is the passing slower or is it just me...?

You just have to get used to the controls again, if you get the right weight on your passes they r good.

In my opinion the FIFA 12 demo is pretty poor...to me it doesnt really warrant buying a new game for a couple of new features...Its just like the COD series now.

Lot of people have been complaining about the tactical defending, but I love it. I'm shit at it, but I love it. For years they've been improving pretty much all areas of gameplay but not really the defending. It's much harder, and much more realistic which is important. None of this BS heat seeking tackle nonsense. You have to actually time the challenge well, and when you get it right, it feels awesome.

AI looks much improved, for and against you. They keep the ball well so you have to retain defensive shape for a long time. And teammates actually make runs off the ball on their own! I had it on the right flank, played it across the park and had my LB bombing on wonderfully, stuff like that is awesome. And defenders don't stand around doing nothing.

Quick throws and drop balls are a nice touch.

Slide tackles are way better, seen some awesome ones, new physics. New impact engine is cool too.

I suck at shooting but that will come with time.

Crossing/heading is good... no longer pinpoint accurate crossing into a 1v1 situation, more like a ball just into the area and you have to run on to the ball.

You can't just spam chip through balls anymore... which is good.

That's all I can think of atm. :lol:

The defending is pissing me off atm, takes me 25 minutes to get the ball of the opposition. I'm sure I'll get used to it though....

I'm starting to keep more clean sheets now. Just can't for the life of me score a goal, I can get into great positions but the defender always seems to get across at the last second and make the block or tackle the ball away.
