I think we should deride England. In having a higher ranking they had relatively easier opponents than the likes of us in the group stage. You can't honestly say that they were superior to us when comparing the opposition.

Kind of puts the Australian performance into perspective doesnt it? England had 11 men the whole game too...

Interesting to speculate how Australia v England might have turned out at this WC, if had ever reached that point...

I would think the current Socceroos squad would be a fair bet against the current English squad.
