Unlucky England, but Germany outplayed you from start to finish. If the goal was allowed it would have brught them to 2-2 at which stage England would have pressed on, and as a result Germany would have managed to counter attack and score. Just like they did tonight. They were way too efficient What do you think about the FourFourTwo article World Cup 2010 Controversies? THE non-award of England midfielder Frank Lampard's 'goal' against Germany has not been the only controversial incident at this World Cup.Have your say.

Would have been smashed like guitars either way. Germany would have piled on the goals regardless, they bypassed the England defence so easily I thought it was the Maginot line.

Seems that levels the scorecard in a near replica of 66. England should now be able to use this a a starting point to the future & stop looking backwards. The Germans were far to clinical for an England side that has lacked cohesion from the start, BUT we all know that this will just be ammunition to whinge with. Get over it & start looking to ther future,

How can you compare a kick around with a ball to a war where millions died needlessly? Come on.

I think the worst one's were Edu's non-goal and Kaka's second yellow card. How the referee's came to these decisions will probably never be known. With the Lampard non-goal, the assistant obviously lost sight of the ball or was not in a position to see it clearly. FourTwoThreeOne wrote:What about the first Tevez goal last night? way way way offside - changed the Mexicans approach to the game completely This one is worse than Lampard's from an officiating point of view, because the assistant is in a good position and it was so obvious. He must've had his eyes closed to miss that.

It's been the most controversial world cup in a very long time. I don't think there's been a world cup filled with more controversy in at least 20 years. With the ball, the crowds, the refereeing descisions, the amount of red cards handed out - i don't think theres been this many red cards handed out in a long timne.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

The Mexicans also had a Lamps-style goal disallowed which in total (with the Argentina offside) would have made it 3-3. Time for FIFA to introduce goal-line technology and to allow the 4th official to advise the ref when TV shows a refereeing error and for the refs to be able to reverse their decisions. I agree that it's a nice idea that football is the same in the local park as in the World Cup but it's only an idea. If the local matches get a 4th official and live TV coverage then they will be the same, until then it's just a romantic fantasy.

The worst part is refs are getting paid crap load of money to hand out yellow and red cards. The ref who was at the Aus v Croatia game was dismissed after that game. If the same applies, there will be heaps of refs with no jobs left (but somehow i don't think it will happen)

Quote:The Mexicans also had a Lamps-style goal disallowed which in total (with the Argentina offside) would have made it 3-3. That's interesting given that it was 3-1 at the final whistle... I didn't see the ball diflect into and back out of the goal at any point. This World Cup will be remembered as the Cup fucked over by poor refereeing.

What's all the contoversy over the England goal that was dis-allowed, it was clearly NOT over the line.

No No David, it was over the line, but he doesn't deserve a goal anyway because it didn't hit the back of the net. [/afro]

Edited by Funky Munky: 28/6/2010 09:56:57 PM Ah yes fair point, if Lampard had hit the target instead of the crossbar it would have been called a goal. Simple.

All I was saying was if it was a better finish, they would never have had a problem. I never denied that the linesman was wrong.
