Hopeless refs this WC. Glad it didn't matter in the end, but they need the technology if they can't pick that up.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Disallowed Goal Will Not Sway Fifa?
FIFA will reject calls for goal-line technology to be introduced despite the controversy over Frank Lampard's disallowed strike.

Have your say.

It does matter when it was 2-1 to England. Germany were on the ropes at that time and 2-2 would have an interesting scenario. Tactics would have changed at the break

and Mexico were doing well at 0-0 when Argentina caught a break, after that Argentina who got an unfair advantage managed to catch their opponents who were pressing for the goal to peg it back

In the end one reason they do not want it is to help the home nation. South Korea having a goal ruled out for them when Spain scored a clear legitimate winning goal in 2002 was

Actually, I think David James summed it up best this morning when he said that goal-line technology is irrelevent in a decision like that - it shouldn't be required, because everyone in the stadium - officials aside - KNEW it was over the line. FFS, the keeper is on the ground, on his line, and the ball is beyond him, how hard is it to figure out for the officials?

how much are the refs getting paid to ruin the world game ;)

Sure there are more games compressed into a month and the worlds eyes on this massive tournament but these are suppose to be FIFA's best. They sure aren't showing it.

I don't remember 2006 being this bad and I remember there being some iffy calls then but i swear they are just bending us over now. Sure its all reactionary but with more teams feeling the pinch of controversial calls surely fifa can't feel like it'll just go away willingly it has over the last few years. It always seems to rear its head and fifa with their bling in hand just looks at us like were stupid.

The mistakes are becoming farcical. I think it is going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
