FC Midtjylland defender Winston Reid hopes his performances at World Cup 2010 have caught the eye of the Premier League managers.

The 21-year-old starred in New Zealand’s unbeaten campaign in South Africa, scoring a dramatic last-minute equaliser in their opening match against Slovakia.

Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce is believed to be weighing up a move for the versatile defender, who would link up with All Whites teammate Ryan Nelsen at Ewood Park, should a move materialise.

The former Danish Under-21 international, who was born in New Zealand admits he chose to represent the country of his birth at the World Cup so he could prove his quality ahead of a potential move away from Midtjylland.

"One of the reasons I decided to represent New Zealand at the World Cup was to attract more attention," Reid told bt.dk.

"I feel ready to try something else than FC Midtjylland."
