You lot just focus on that one word, let's overlook the rest of the article, that is if you two bothered to read it all.
His comments, for the most part, are actually quite pleasing, refreshing even - about what he said about his team and their approach to the World Cup - Singing, enjoying the occasion, even room for some 'fun.' Given all the dramas surrounding the big nations like France, England etc.. and even, to a much lesser degree, our team, it's pleasing to hear of a team not only united, but having a more balanced, even relaxed time of it between matches. The Cup is naturally intense, given all the expectations from all corners, including oneself, so there's generally no need to push that much further - though we've seen how for a few teams and even players, the pressure has probably become too great.
I think in Gyan and Ghana's case, it helps their cause alot that many of them had that experience of Germany 06 behind them. And Gyan certainly was in good form for his French Lig 1 side, this past season.
Also, it's one thing to be taking spot kicks, it's another to be making them. So you can't fault him for that (unlike some others) - He hasn't let them down yet and indeed it has helped them get this far!
FTR I'm GLAD Ghana got through in the context of - If I wanted anybody else, aside from Australia, progressing from our group, then it would've been Ghana. And even though it was 'technically' at our expense, in real terms we all know it was our own failure against Germany, and even to a far lesser, slightly harsher degree, lack of a killer striker against Ghana in those last 20 mins (Chipper's Header, Kennedy's two chances and THAT Wilkshire chance), it's our own failings which caused our demise ofcourse.
And with our team, I think it was only come post Germany, that we learned to, ironically, relax, enjoy ourselves a bit more at camp etc... because they had nothing to loose, it was all or nothing, so as contradictory as it sounds, they could just loosene up, off aswell as on the field and they probably HAD to aswell, given the challenging Round of 16 scenario and, post German result, the reaction of the press and fans. They were probably tense, full of expectation, nerves even, over the clearly 'daunting' (as they, unfortunately, even said so in lead up) task of Germany. But after that game that was all let go, from that point on, even though in hindsight, that was one game too late.
