Woh nelly, not bad - not bad at all!
No wonder our local coaches are worried - these guys are all a step or even two above the level our coaches are presently at - and it further puts to shame the fact we chose Arnie to succeed Hiddink, given even the likes of Lavicka and Straka are better qualified and experienced to handle our NT, compared to he or any of the others, at present.
Though in saying all that - I'm for balance and hope while a few A-League clubs get foreigners like this, the other 2/3 give opportunity to the younger brigade of coaches coming through, like the Okon's, Popovic's, likely soon in the coming seasons, Moore, Muscat and co too. Now those guys, IF they end up progressing to coach in decent European leagues, then they may be the first batch of domestic coaches, post reforms, to be capable our coaching our NT, around when they enter their mid 40s to early 50s.

Dutch media are linking him to MV, but I have not heard anything about Merrick leaving so they may be confused...

To be fair, foreign media is how we Tards find out about most of our transfer activity as the club will never comment until pen hits paper, and sometimes weeks after that.

All reports I have seen are linking him to Victory. Where did you get the Adelaide connection?

MV always play their cards close to their chest...the fact that there hasn't been any whispers from MV probably gives it more credence if anything.

The thing that tells me it's not Adelaide is that the Dutch media are also saying it's a 2 year deal - Until Adelaide find an owner they aren't handing out anything more than 12 months.

Whilst we're at it I'm fairly sure Merrick's contract expires in December.

AUFC announce their new coach at 1pm ACST, so will find out if this is confirmed at that point.

Sydney FC and Melbourne 1 are in line for that. I guess it goes down to who wants him the most. We have our killer B's but it'd be nice to have him around too. Melbourne should be desperate for a striker, they're leaving it late. Next they'll be doing CCM and plucking nobody's out of the state Leagues just to make up the numbers.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

Sydney FC and Melbourne 1 are in line for that. You have just plucked that out of your arse. SFC are NOT in line for Kanu. Very very minimal chance Nwankwo will be in the A-League for season 6

Fact is even if SFC were interested he's hardly a striker anymore he's more of an attacking midfielder.

I know where he got it from, but in typical Heineken style he has put 2 & 2 together and come up with 5.
