Thousands of Paraguayan men depressed by the nation's heart-rendering defeat to Spain in the World Cup have been given something to cheer about with the news lingerie model Larissa Riquelme is to honour her pledge to strip naked.

The lingerie model's ample cleavage - complete with mobile phone - has become one of the talking points of the World Cup after pictures of Larissa Riquelme cheering on her team in some figure-hugging tops were published around the globe.

She hit the headlines after declaring if Paraguay won the tournament she would happily run down the main street in Asuncion naked - matching an earlier pledge by Argentina coach Diego Maradona to do the same in Buenos Aires.

The hopes of her South American fans - and, let's face it, pretty much every man across the globe - appeared to have been dashed at the weekend as David Villa scored the only goal to eliminate Paraguay in the last-eight.

But while down-in-the-dumps Diego contemplates his future as coach after Argentina's 4-0 thumping by Germany, Riquelme has confirmed she'll go ahead with her promise - even though her countrymen fell a couple of wins short of the target she'd set them.

'They tried as hard as possible and gave it their all on the field.'

What a generous girl she is.

Riquelme may have made her name off the back of her revealing poses (she's also making a pretty packet too, by the looks of things, after some cheeky advertising for a well-known deodorant brand appeared on her chest during the Spain match).

But she gave a good impression of being a genuine football fan with a whole range of emotions during Saturday's game.
