Great blog Julia. Most of those World Cup experiences were exactly what I've gone through the past month... except perhaps the 'enjoying Cup Fever' bit which I really didn't! It's hard to work out what I think of Foz. I know he's right about most things... and the moment for me was when Uruguay were comfortably leading Korea 1-0 at halftime and I thought they would defend out the second 45 to secure progression. Not Foz though he confidently stated that there would "definitely" be at least 1 more goal in the second half. The game ended 2-1, with both goals coming in the manner that Foz predicted. It was actually one of the most brave and brilliant pieces of punditry I've seen!!! As for a home-grown coach... well the fact is that the A-League, for all its value, is not the same as our national team. Until an Aussie proves himself coaching overseas I would rather we stuck with foreigners. Or alternately if a coach can create a period of *sustained* success in the A-League I might think them worth a go... Viddie's efforts in reaching the ACL final were followed up by a wooden spoon which for me means he's not ready yet. None of the other options even come close. Rather than calling for the likes of Chippers, Kewell, Neill, etc. to come back to the A-League...... we need them to get coaching jobs at their European clubs!!!!!! What do you think about the FourFourTwo blog Auf wiedersehen Pet? As we bid farewell to Group D let's admit one thing : Fozz was right. Yeah, I know it's tough but face the facts : Fozz knows at least as much as the octopus and that lesser known psychic parakeet.&n...Have your say.
