I actually thought Robben tried to do too much. He wasnt bringing in other players at all. An individual. When a team man would have been better. To be fair though this may have been due to his speed. Leaving his team mates for dead most of the time.

For me it was Jesus Navas that changed the game. His ability to beat Dutch defenders was impressive and itt was his run from half way that led to the goal.

not Fabregas who came on to change the game but . He had a massive impact and it was his build up play which led to the goal.

Agreed again, not sure if you can say Robben was best on ground. Personally this game did not deserve a man of the match.

A few calls I don't agree with here... but *especially* I can't believe Villa has been rated as putting in even a decent shift let alone a good one.

He was perhaps the least effective player on the field for me and completely nullified by Mathijsen and Heitinga (hence both those players deserve at least a 6). He barely generated a chance all match which is unacceptable for a lone striker. For all Spain's good work, they were let down by a complete absence of presence in the final third and this was because Villa played poorly. His only chance to score came from an opportunistic scramble and even then he blew a certain goal!!!!!!

Also Iniesta wasn't outstanding because he gave away possession too often. I actually thought Robben and the 2 goalkeepers were the best players on the field..... although Cesc Fabregas when he was on was outstanding and the catalyst for Spain winning it without needing penalties.

No shit, I forgot that it was Pedro subbed off for Navas in the second half and thought that it was Busquets, that's how little he did in the second half.

7 for Stekelenberg is harsh, deserved 8.

9 for Iniesta is a joke, the number of passes and opportunities he missed. Again, 8.

4 for De Jong is generous, had a shocker.

7 for Pedro is generous, didn't look good at all. The exact opposite of Iniesta and Xavi - no willingness to pass.

4 for Mathijsen was just retarded. He was one of the best players there. Wasn't the only player at fault for Iniesta's goal and deserved at least a 6 for keeping Villa quiet for most of the game when Heitinga was marauding up the pitch.

Busquets was immense. Close to the best player on the pitch. Thought Heitinga was up there with Gio for me - crazy good positioning and thought the red card was harsh, but he took one for the team. Cannot argue with Iniesta or Robben' s ratings - outstanding.
