Does any know how this win will be received in the Catalan & Basque regions of Spain?

Are they fully behind the national team or just interested in the success of their own players??

I can’t imagine any other country that would encounter this kind of problem,
The only loose example I could conjure up would be if the United Kingdom was forced to enter one team.
How would a Scotsman cheer on a team with at least 9 English player??

The Catalans will have no problem since they won the World Cup, they just had a few Spanish blow ins.

Interesting point, hopefully someone has some insight for us.

Watching Puyol celebrate with the Catalan flag reminded me of the hoohaa about Cathy Freeman when she had an Aboriginal flag, but I'm sure it's a totally different issue over there.

They will united behind this win... but domestically end of story.

If you mention Barca to a castallian they'll spit on you still and vice versa with real madrid to a catalonian.

If the Catalan's had it their way they would be happy to be an independant country still...but this victory should help Spain unite....maybe.
