I really think Kanta needs a move. His career has just halted over the last few seasons.

Jobe wheelhouse was trialling months ago. No idea on this current triallist though. Kanta had so much potential but has stagnated - he is definately not a feature in my first XI

----------------Biraz---------------- Brillante--Chapman--Jaliens--Goodwin -------Zadkovich---Caravella-------- --------------Brown----------------- Taggart-------Heskey-----------Burns
Bench: BK, Neville, Kantarovski, Hoole, Virgili Thanks. Is this what you want, or what you predict GVE will roll out come round 1? I need the MOST LIKELY line-up.

from nf.net Quote:In an intra-squad friendly Red and Blue beat Black and White 3-0 with goals from Bridges, Taggart and Virgili Red and blue: Birighitti, Neville, Chapman, Jaliens, Gallaway, Caravella, Oxborrow, Zadkovich, Brown, Taggart, Virgili Black and white: Kennedy, Hoole, Regan, Mitchell, Cowburn, Kantarovski, Brillante, Bridges, Goodwin, Gibbs, Lundy Virgili and Oxborrow swapped teams with Goodwin and Bridges at some point in the game Jeez Goodwin will be kicking himself for not taking any offers in the UK - on the bench in a GVE team ffs! And Brillante was one of, if not the best performer of the U20 WC - and he can't get a run either!

Posted in the kits thread also, but will post here. Finally we get to see the heritage jersey in the flesh It's.. beautiful The only shit thing is currently our keepers wear one of three coloured jerseys, in their-preference order: yellow, green, navy blue. Even though HSG have been continually harrassed to get rid of the yellow (our main rivals colours) keeper kit and either go full gold or just completely different, they persist with it. And with a green away jersey, it looks like we'll be wearing the yellow keeper kit even more

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Bookings now open for Rd 1 Jets away Support Coaches Quote:http://www.newcastlefootball.net/home/2013/10/round-1-jets-away-support-coaches/
The new A-League season is almost upon us, and excitement is building ahead of the Newcastle Jets opening game against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Friday 11th October. A number of supporters have enquired about the availability of coaches for this season, so The Squadron Football Supporters Club has booked a coach service to Sydney for the 11th October for any supporters who want to make the trip down the F3 and help pack out the away bays.
Bookings are now open for the Round 1 fixture against Sydney FC at Allianz Stadium on Friday 11th October 2013. Kick-off is at 7:30pm. You can purchase your tickets by calling Sid Foggs on 4928 1088 Mon – Fri 9am – 5pm and Sat 9am – 12pm. You can also purchase in person at Sid Foggs Travel, Gallery Level at Stockland Jesmond.
Coaches will depart from Hunter Stadium car park for Sydney at 4pm and then will depart 20 minutes after fulltime for the return trip to Newcastle. This service is for all Jets supporters and especially for families and younger supporters who want to attend an away game but don’t wish to travel by public transport and want a direct service to the stadium.
Prices for this trip will be $25 per seat or a special family price of $90 (two adults and two children or one adult and three children). Those paying by credit card will attract a 2% non-refundable fee. We have made the costs cheaper and simpler than last season so we hope this makes it more affordable for supporters.
These prices are for return coach travel only and do not include a match ticket. All patrons are strongly advised to purchase their match tickets prior to booking on the coach. Please be advised that smoking and alcohol will not be permitted on board Sid Foggs coaches.
A minimum number of bookings are required to ensure each service goes ahead. Those wishing to use this coach service are urged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible. A decision will be made by 12pm Wednesday October 9th as to whether the minimum number of seats have been sold. If the service is cancelled, customers will be notified and purchases will be refunded (except credit card fees).
Patronage for this service will determine whether there is sufficient demand for future NSW away trips for games against Wanderers and the Mariners. A portion of sales after a completed service will be donated to The Squadron FSC to go towards tifo production costs (large scale displays, flags and poles, banners, drums and megaphones, etc)
The coach service is booked by The Squadron on behalf of all Newcastle Jets supporters with Sid Foggs Coaches. Hunter Sports Group/Newcastle Jets FC have no involvement aside from promoting the service to its Members. Any enquiries for these coach services need to be directed to Sid Foggs Coaches on the above number.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Mark Rudan as GVE's replacement if we go for someone local

So apparently SST are breaking a story tonight that will derail our season... Reckon it's either tinks out of money or Heskey leaving...

Heskey has barely featured this season and when he has, he's either been invisible or just a few cameo features of skill. Tinks IS out of money, his wife controls his trust fund and they're getting divorced to further secure their financial future. But yes could be Tinks trying to hand back the licence again. he's done a good job of going broke of late. Taggart beig poached for January transfer window? that would do it or GVE moving on! Ah the dreams; I've got them!!!

Feels good to be a Jets Supporter today! we were under the pump for most of that match and we actually banded together and fought tooth and nail and got the points!
If we had played with that determination against Sydney we would have beaten them as well. Now to take on our greatest challenge, beating WSW in Newy. We've never done it before and we're fairly evenly matched ATM.
Should be a great match with the Monkey off of Burns' back and Regan and Huge Aliens playing solid together and Biraz!!!! (that save!!!) literally bouncing with excitement for the weekend!

I think the difference in the Sydney game was dropping Brillante for Heskey. Thought he was excellent for us yesterday along with Kanta. Regan had his best game in about 2 years yesterday but I would still like to see Chapman come back into the starting side when he's fit. Can't wait for the Wanderers game on Saturday.

Will Goodwin ever return? ... or James Virgili? Would definitely prefer Hoole starting over Goodwin and Virgili. Chapman back in for Regan when he's recovered and leaving Heskey on the bench in preference for the extra midfielder (Brillante) like against Victory and that's our best starting 11. Neville injury may cause a problem though, don't really rate Pepper as a fullback. Edited by jparraga: 10/12/2013 08:38:46 PM

Will Goodwin ever return? Hoole didn't have his best game against Victory but until Goodwin improves his attitude and work rate I am more than happy for him to keep starting ahead of Craig.

What a dumb arse comment. Do you know him personally ? What would you know about what he does at training and off the park ? I am good friend of his and if you knew him well you would find out there is nothing wrong with his attitude and work rate. He is training his arse off and waiting for his chance again. We have all seen what he is capable of. Maybe if you got to know him instead of commenting on other peoples lies you will change your mind. Maybe if you found out the truth a bit you might be surprised what you find out. The team is winning games at the moment so no point in making wholesale changes unlike last year. COYJ

@Inkjet
I think you're taking that comment a lot more personally than it was intended. Whilst I reckon Goodwin still has potential to do well, in pretty much all his performances from the bench since being dropped he looks lethargic and disinterested.
