So now to the business end of the season. The 5 semi finalists are Bonnyrigg White Eagles, Blacktown City FC, Sydney United, APIA Leichhardt Tigers and the Marcono Stallions.
As minor premiers Bonnyrigg get a week off. The games are as follows.
Blacktown vs Sydney United Sunday, August 8 3:00pm, Lily Holmes Stadium
APIA vs Marconi Sunday, August 8 3:00pm, Leichhardt Oval
The winner of Blacktown vs United goes on to play Bonnyrigg while the loser goes on the play the winner of APIA v Marconi with the loser of that clash being eliminated.

Blacktown game sounds like it was a cracker. It will be interesting to see the Bonnyrigg V United major semi final in 2 weeks time. NSWFA must be jumping for joy that they don't have to work out the fan seperation for another week.
APIA are not going to beat United. It is not their time.

It would have been interesting if we had beaten Blacktown. Then we would have played Bonnyrigg this week and then possibly in the GF again:lol:

United couldn't put a goal past 9 men for half an hour, then Blacktowns keeper (albeit a pretty bad penalty) saves them the match.
It was a great game. Would have loved to see the headache at Football NSW if United had scored that goal.

Bonnyrigg 0-4 Blacktown
A boilover of epic proportions here. So Blacktown into the Grand Final and Bonnyrigg to play the winner of United v APIA. Won't FNSW just love it of United win  Well at least they don't have to worry about a United v Bonnyrigg Grand Final.

:( was hoping APIA would win. Still, semi's is good. The final had better not be at bonnyrigg. I'll go along to it. But if its members only, that's shit. Should play it somewhere like Leichhardt Oval - or hold of and have it as the pre-game to the SFC CCM game in fortnight.

It'll be at Bonnyrigg and only for members becase it's only a prelim semi, so FNSW can afford to close it to the public. If it was a Grand Final they wouldn't but because it's only a prelim they will.

BWE vs UNITED, will be behind closed doors, NO FANS AT ALL. FNSW wanted it open to the public, (to take all the gate money) but didnt want to be responsible for any trouble, so they told so they told both clubs to supply all security and cops etc...the clubs told them to get fuked and both decided too play it behind closed doors, no fans at all. its a shame really. Simply because the money earned in gate taking from the semis goes into there coffers thats football nsw
Both clubs didnt want the game to go ahead two years ago and football nsw told both clubs that they would take responsibility for security on both games
Guess what the cops have no idea to stop trouble happening
So both clubs no they cant stop it happening
Ps i was at both games 2 yeara ago Tell you want if it wasnt for 2 horses with police chasing the serbs The fifty odd cros on the team bus would of been in lots of trouble
Just saying the clubs no that the trouble cannot bestopped
A CROWD OF 3 4 THOUSAND WOULD TURN UP EVEN IF YOU HAD 100 COPS THERE WOULD STILL BE TROUBLE TROUBLE

FNSW dont want responisiblity for security but if an incident occured they'd be the first to dish out heavy fines and kick out teams of the competition just because of a few dikheads, i mean seriously is it hard to contain 5k crowd well well organised cops and security, no its not, but FNSW are just lazy cunts with no fukn idea how to run or organise things, atleast there backsides are covered and get $$ thats all they care about.

It's actually unbelieveable how easy it is. All they need is a ground that has at least 2 exits on opposite ends of the ground. One set of fans leave and then 30mins to an hour later the next set leaves. The only reason they are doing this is because it's only a prelim final. If it was the GF they wouldn't be able to do it. In the end I'd rather this than some idiots get both clubs kicked out, because that's what will happen. We got lucky last time that Bonnyrigg fucked up when they shot at their own club and blamed it on us, that's the only reason they got kicked out and we didn't.

TBPH, I'd rather it played behind closed doors then let there be a chance that something happens. There will always be a few dickheads on either side who will fuck it up, and if something happens this time both teams get kicked out. The only way in the near future that these games will be played with fans is if they meet in a GF until then it's just not worth it. It's not the fact that something will happen, of course there's a chance it could all go smoothly, but that is far outweighed by the chance of something miniscule happening and getting blown up as an ethnic riot.
One thing I reckon they could do, is play it at a neutral venue, and telecast the game to both clubs.

If we win we win the league and get promoted into NSW Div 1 and with Zagreb getting relegated well fly the flag. Bring all the cro boys and have a party. THE PELINKOVAC IS ON ME!!!!

You seem to fail that people who attend these 'high risk' games are not fans of the Club, but use the two teams playing as a reason to go with other Cro's/Serb's/Greek's/Maso's to cause trouble with the 'enemy'.
Not that I would expect you to understand that racist cunt.

Edited by sydneycroatia58: 18/8/2010 02:28:25 PM im sure as a fan yourself you would know who hasnt been there before and who has been to most games, plus im sure both BWE and SYU would know the people involved in the fights last time

Not that I would expect you to understand that racist cunt. and what are SYU and BWE doing to stop these fans getting in? maybe if you did somethin and showed FNSW what you are doing they would be happy to let fans in, maybe police yaself would help What do you think the clubs should do about them getting in? The answer is there is nothing they can do to stop them getting in. How are they gonna know who's there for the football and who's not. It's just not possible. if i knew the answers i would have a job in security control but i dont but you guys have had 2 years to think of something true? you dont get alot of fans anyway to the games so you guys would know whos a fan and who has just rocked up for one game, BTW the grand final is at parra stadium The thing is there is no way to tell who is there for football and who is not. If it was open to fans I have no doubt this would be the biggest crowd of the season. The thing is there are people who would rock up for one game for the football and there are people who would rock up for one game to start some trouble, it's impossible to differentiate the two. If we make the Grand Final there will be people turning up that haven't been to a game all year. As for the people involved last time. Yeah they would know who, but it was 5 years ago. People change a lot looks wise in 5 years.

As if mates are going to rat on each other and as if people remember who it was from 5 years ago. I highly highly doubt that anyone, apart from their mates, would remember who exactly started the trouble 5 years ago.
In a perfect world that might happen, but it's just not going to happen.

Quote: NSW Premier League Finals Series Week 3 Preview Sudden death football is the order of the day this weekend as Bonnyrigg White Eagles and Sydney United go into battle in a last ditch effort to keep their respective seasons alive, and set up a grand-final clash with Blacktown City FC. Blacktown City FC will enjoy the weekend off to accurately prepare the grand-final clash the following weekend, though there is no such luxury for the White Eagles and Reds. Bonnyrigg coach Brian Brown has the big task of lifting the morale amongst his troops following a comprehensive defeat at the hands of Blacktown City FC last weekend. Played in-front of their home supporters, the White Eagles were handed a hefty lesson with a 4-0 defeat sending the side into an elimination play-off for the chance to reach the grand-final. Brown will look at his big guns Brad Boardman, Daniel Severino and Jamie McMaster to lead the way against the Reds, with the side boasting a positive record against Sydney United in 2010. Bonnyrigg grabbed bragging rights in both regular season clashes – a 2-1 win at Sydney United Sports Centre in Round 5 followed by a very impressive 3-0 win at home in Round 16. With an elimination bout in store this weekend, these previous results will count for very little. The Reds have lived a somewhat inconsistent run in 2010, in-terms of results, though David Zdrilic’s side have shown their ability to grind out results when the going gets tough. A fine show of their potential was demonstrated last weekend against A.P.I.A.-Leichhardt Tigers, where Luka Glavas and Zdrilic himself double-teamed the Tigers, ending the mammoth run of one of the competitions most consistent side’s over the second-half of the season. Zdrilic’s side possesses a fine attacking third with the likes of Glavas, Elsid Barkhousir, Zdrilic himself and Petar Markovic out of midfield providing many options going forward. The battle in midfield promises to be a real gem with Shane Webb and Milorad Simonovic performing consistently well for the White Eagles, meanwhile the Reds will be rock solid with Ivo Bosnar and the likes of Peter Zorbas and Steve Hayes more than up for the challenge. With the season of both clubs going on the line, action aplenty is expected this weekend with both sides desperate to book a date with destiny against Blacktown City FC in the grand-final. The Grade 20s at Lily Homes Stadium on Saturday at 5pm promises to also be a huge match as Blacktown City FC take on Sydney Olympic with the winner booking at ticket in the 2010 Grand Final at Parramatta Stadium against Sydney United. http://www.nswpl.com.au/index.php?id=554&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4351&tx_ttnews[backPid]=537&cHash=a97322662a Massive weekend:d

Not that I would expect you to understand that racist cunt. Are you saying that fans of ethnic clubs don't have anything to do with the violence associated with these clubs? I think your naivete and stupidity are in a competition...

I think I would have a far greater idea, without a doubt in my mind, on this ethnic issue and in State League competitions.

Quote: NSW Premier League Grand Final Preview Blacktown City FC and Bonnyrigg White Eagles go into battle for NSW Premier League supremacy this Sunday at Parramatta Stadium where the victors will take the title of Minor Premiers for 2010. With these sides finishing first and second on the League ladder following the regular season, there could not have been a better scripted finale. Aytek Genc’s Blacktown City FC enter the final coming off a weekend with no ‘serious’ football, even though the side has been working hard on the training fields in anticipation of Sunday’s final. Positive news for Blacktown City has been the return to full fitness of Tolgay Ozbey, the striker missed the recent 4-0 defeat of Bonnyrigg due to a hamstring injury, though has shown he is ready and up for the grand final match. Genc will have captain Luke Roodenburg calling the shots out of midfield; the club captain has been instrumental in organising his teammates on the field, especially with the younger players in the group, and is entering his fifth grand final. In the attacking third, Joel Chianese will have a licence to attack, with target man Tolgay Ozbey vital to his side’s chances of success. Ozbey finished the regular season as top goalscorer, and Blacktown City FC supporters will be hoping the marksman has a couple of goals to come in Sunday’s grand final. Bonnyrigg White Eagles enter the grand final full of confidence following a rather impressive showing against Sydney United last weekend. Despite falling a goal behind after only 7’ minutes, and struggling to find their feet in the opening 15’ minutes, Brian Brown’s men turned it all around from the 20’ minute onwards, scoring three unanswered goals and putting together a very well polished performance. Milorad Simonovic’s marshalling in-front of the defensive line has the side in good order, as does the pace and ball skills of Jamie McMaster, Daniel Severino and Nathan Elasi going forward. Striker Brad Boardman will be the ‘go to’ man in the front-line, with the quick movement of Elasi and McMaster expected to cause Blacktown City some cause for concern. Blacktown City FC hold a 2-1 head-to-head lead against the White Eagles from the three times these two teams have met in 2010. The two regular season encounters produced 2-0 victories in both matches for the home-side, meanwhile the recent Major semi-final showdown provided victory to Blacktown City FC 4-0. In what is expected to be a fantastic afternoon of football at the very impressive Parramatta Stadium venue, supporters of both teams – and the neutrals – do get out there to see some fireworks on Sunday. In the Grade-20 grand final, Sydney United play host to Blacktown City FC, with the latter hoping to make a winning start for the Blacktown club in this exciting encounter on grand final day, with kick-off set for 12:30 pm.
While at 10am the South Coast Wolves take on Sutherland Sharks in the battle for the Grade 18’s Grand Final. http://footballnsw.com.au/index.php?id=17&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=4375&tx_ttnews[backPid]=389&cHash=464ac689e1 Since the first grade couldn't get there, hoping for the U20's to win a second straight title.

Interesting Sydney United 20s before the Bonnyrigg game
Hope there is a police presence there
As there is still a chance for violence
Sydney United played Olympic last year as there where a few hundred fans at Belmore
So the chance of violence is there

Good luck to all the NSWPL clubs that made it to the finals . It would be great to see a challenge match between the winners of the NSWPL v. the winners of the HQSL to see the differences in standard between the two states. In that way we can measure where each are at, and maybe help to raise the standard of both states.Don't expect it to happen though the powers that be can never agree. There should have been a state of origin football match ages ago.THE current A- league resembles a lot of the Basketball franchises ,at the moment which are not making a lot of money but persist in importing players at great expense to woo the crowd. I don't think it's working for the A-league and from the beginning they ignored talented players from our state leagues for names. Some who are not much better than our best state league players. With all the money they spend on coaches one would think they could get some of our best local players up to speed.Until then ,it's us and them.Maybe one day they could work together, but i wouldn't hold my breath.

About the constant fear of violence etc in the sport. It's history ,and we should never forget it .Soccer as it was called did have ethnic tension as migrants carried some of their political hatred and remembered atrocities from home. However it was still usually started by a few thugs that wanted to use the football as their stage for war.The actual ethnic people and volonteers that ran the club were people who would do anything for you .Some gave up their whole lives for the game. The FFA should recognise these heroes of the game ,instead they focus on the ethnic violence and distance themselves from these clubs. Many of the these older guys who are responsible for making the game what it is today are sadly being forgotten. With all the cream the FFA take off Aussie supporters, players and clubs, you would think a bit of credit could be given to the great things our fathers and grandfathers did, before all of them pass on.. They lived and breathed it.Get over it FFA and start working with the state league clubs to get players through to the A-league, and some real community engagement. It's a win win situation.

ROFLMAO@consitent violence with Olympic fans.
I think the last violence at a NSWPL match was in 2005. Can someone please remind me the last time the A-league had a clash?

The last thing I have heard of was at the United V Jets Kalac Farewell where a few of the Locals felt that our lads had over stayed their welcome at the Tom but there was no real incident.
The last argy in A-League was???? Melbourne Sydney maybe round one but I think that was SCC V Former now Rovers SCC.
I haven't heard of anything really happening in the State league other than the crap at Bob Jane but even then that was supporters V Players so doesn't count.

I haven't heard of any violence this year at least, besides the United/Bonnyrigg post-game heckling. Some home games are pretty culturally confrontational to me though, like Olympic, Bonny and United, but as long as everyone respects each other it's all good!
3pm. Can't wait
