Was well set up, was watching it at DISC, a few months back. There was however a huge gap in experience and skill. Anyone can compete, but there are of course teams that where training all through summer. Although the thrill for the kids, of the chance to go to Sydney to compete if they won, was pretty exciting. I could just imagine some of the kids under the lights at Old Trafford, is a great competition, its definitely a keeper.

The comp has been going for many years and we have had aus representatives in it before. I think last year, nz was the team competing from our region but have had australian teams before.

Unfortunately the Sharks crashed at the final hurdle 2-0 to United, and won't progress to the next round, however an excellent effort none the less.

Mr wrote:I would like to know which NSW or Australian teams were beaten to get the invite to this cup? Do not know the results from Melbourne anyhow this is a knock out competition Manchester United Cup sponsored by Nike for U15 boys, last year Marconi and this year Sutherland won for NSW progressed to Melbourne to compete verses other states and eventually won the right to go to Manchester to represent Australia and New Zealand. Some Marconi boys from last year are now at AIS. Definitely a life changing experience. Good luck to all the boys well done
