There's about 5 or 6 mods on the forum. I am the only one who supports a non-A-League club. So I don't think it's anything to do with a vested interest. If there was an issue in that regard then the other lads would be shutting up the threads. It's called freedom of speech.

And I think you'll find that the vast majority of trolling on the forum is currently coming from either Sydney Olympic fans, or AFL fans. To the best of my knowledge none of the mods are involved with either.

We need new mods who will actually ban trolls instead of encouraging them because they have a vested interest in one of the places the trolls come from.

To be honest, on that thread - I opened it, read the first post, and just laughed. I got down as far as his second comment (about Williams being indigenous rather than 'Aussie') and didn't bother reading any more. I felt that it was dumb rather than baiting.

The probation period might work - but it's just as easy to hijack someone else's thread as it is to act like a shmuck on your own. In fact, at least when the numpties are starting their own threads people can tell what to avoid.

Ignore them I agree, but also i think we need to bring in a Probation period for new members. I feel that people should have to have made between 25-50 posts before they are able to create threads.

Also the fact that said thread got to 4 pages before it got locked is a little ridiculous as it was clearly baiting and racist.

The one regarding "Where are the Aussies" is typical of a number of shite troll threads popping up on the forum.

Any chance of something like a Troll poll button eg:

This thread has been tagged for trolling. Do you agree? (with yes and no option buttons).

If the poll gets say 50 respondents with a 2/3 majority yes, the thread is red carded or sent to a special Troll Posts forum.
