Cost cutting so they can make a move for Woodson I think.

In the last 3 years we've seen Brady hook up with Welker 326 times, the next closest is Gronk with 187 and Hernandez on 175 receptions. That's a huge gap.

I don't think we'll make a move for Woodson. I think it's more the organisation weighing up the long terms benefits and deciding not to keep him. He turned down a deal last year and I think that's what convinced them to let him go.

It's a massive gap. They were best friends off the field as well. I know Brady has a very high opinion of Welker, he's called him the bes tplayer on the team more than a few times. He'll be gutted to see him go.

Yeah, you'll have picked him up as a Third Down back. CJ had a LOT of 0 and negative gains on third down.

Farewell Wes  Would've loved to have kept him. Brady's most favourite target too.

We seem to be rading the Rams for R's now. Lloyd last year, Amendola this year. He's now Welker, but he's a good signing none the less.

Looks like he'll be the guy to get the hard yards in our rushing offence, sort of the same way Lendale White was with CJ a few years ago. Hopefully he can make a difference and add something.

Amendola is now a Patriot. (I never liked him anyway)
Welker has joined the Broncos
Avril has joined the Seahawks
Bush has joined the Lions
Mendenhall has joined the Cardinals.
Rodgers Cromartie has joined the Broncos.

Rumours are gong around that the Bucs have offered a second round pick this year, and a first round pick next year in exchange for New York's Revis.

Fun fact: the average duration of a free agent's stay at a team is 2.8 years. The average contract signed is 4.2. Thanks to ESPN's John Clayton for that one.

Yeah, Cook isn't an elite TE. That's why they didn't franchise him. He's not even on a level with Jermichael Finley - who thinks he's markedly better than he actually is.

Mike Wallace has joined Miami on a 5 year $60m deal. He's good, but he's not THAT good.

Cleveland have coughed up $40m for Paul Kruger from Baltimore.

The Buffalo Bills have cut starting QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and Oakland have cut former first round pick Heyward-Bey.

The thing with franchising him is that he lines up in the slot for more than 60% of his snaps, so if we had Tagged him as a TE, he was going to contest it and try and get tagged as a WR, which means he'd have got around 4m more next season. Not worth it.

I wouldn't get excited about guys like Umeniyora and Freeney. You'll get 2-3 seasons tops out of them and pay through the nose. I'd also be worried if Cook got that kind of money. He's a catching TE but he's not fast enough. He's worth 6m tops.

I'll be interested to see what the packers do. Whether they actively chase a replacement for Jennings, cut Finley, chase Steven Jackson at RB and strengthen the D-line...or pick up a strong WR. There's so much potentially going on with our squad if we want to be aggressive. Especially in light of the Niners moves this offseason.

I usually dont like Free Agency but it seems my Titans are gonna be doing something this year. Our biggest target is obviously Andy Levitre from the Bills, and it seems we are the favourites to sign him, also on our radar are Usi Umeniyora DE (Giants), John Abraham DE (Falcons), Dwight Freeney DE (Colts), Michael Bennett DE (Bucs), Dustin Keller TE (Jets), Martellus Bennett TE (Giants) and Ricky Jean Francois DT (Niners).

Obviously our biggest need is the OL, and my preferences are Levitre, Umeniyora and Keller. We need some depth at DE with Wimbley and Morgan starting, Usi would be a top pickup and would help our pass rush. Levitre is a no brainer now that Hutchinson has retired. As for Francois, he is there only if we dont re-sign SenDerrick Marks.

The need at Tight End is crucial, as Jake Locker needs a person who can catch at that position. When he played, Jared Cook was probably Jakes favourite reciever. Jared is heading to FA (And probably going to get 8-10m a season O_O ) which is disappointing, he was severely underused in our system and i think if he's given plenty of snaps, he'll be one of the best TEs in the NFL. Keller could come in and be a solid starter in Nashville.

Percy Harvin does bring a LOT to the team, they've now got a legitimate inside threat instead of relying on some creative routes from some 50-50 wideouts. But there's no way that he's worth 3 picks to a team that needs to reinforce the consistency of their Centre.

As for Baltimore...I'm dumbfounded for the exact reason you said. Like...granted they've now cleared 8m/year off their salary cap. But for a 6th round pick when he's your top receiver? I mean granted, Smith is a bigger deep threat...but damn.

Today is a tale of teams getting ripped off.

Seattle Seahawks have traded Their first round (25th overall), 7th round and a mid-round 2014 pick to Minnesota for Percy Harvin.

But the biggest lol of the day came from Baltimore who were so desperate to save 2m on Anquan Boldin that they accepted a SIXTH ROUND PICK in exchange for him from San Francisco. Lolwut?

Article on ESPN made out the Seahawks getting Harvin was a huge deal, saying "By adding Percy Harvin, the Seahawks became the most dangerous team in the NFC" They must have some awesome drugs up there in Bristol.

As for the Ravens, why would you give your QB the richest contract in football, then trade his favourite receiver?

This year just 8 teams have used their franchise tags on players.
yahoo sports wrote:
Buffalo Bills safety Jairus Byrd - $6.916 million
Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton - $8.45 million
Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Michael Johnson - $11.175 million
Dallas Cowboys linebacker/defensive end Anthony Spencer - $10.627 million (120 percent his 2012 tender)
Denver Broncos offensive tackle Ryan Clady - $9.828 million
Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee - $2.977 million
Kansas City Chiefs offensive tackle Branden Albert - $9.828 million
Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Randy Starks - $8.45 million

I guess that's goodbye to one of Jennings/Finley for the packers.

Couldn't care a rats ass what Suggs thinks. I don't care if everyone hates us.

The Chiefs could do worse than Smith. Solid QB, very efficient as well.

Terrell Suggs: Teams hate Patriots
Terrell Suggs says he isn't the only one who despises the New England Patriots.

Joining "The Big Show" on WEEI, Suggs said he "guarantees the other 31 teams hate the New England Patriots." The Baltimore Ravens star also said he doesn't feel the Patriots "respect anybody."

Suggs added that he feels that players who have played for the Patriots divulge stories of what's wrong with the organization, though he wouldn't offer details.

"The NFL is not very big," Suggs said on WEEI. "You think we don't talk to guys that have played for the New England Patriots, that have been on the New England Patriots that have been like, 'Oh, it's been like this.'

"It ain't just me. Why did Bart Scott say the same thing? You think it's just us? You think it's just got something to do with us? No. This is because we have inside information. We know."

Suggs also stood by comments and explained why he called the Patriots "the most arrogant p------ in the world" after the Ravens defeated New England in the AFC Championship Game this past January en route to winning the Super Bowl. Suggs took another jab at the Pats after the title game, telling them to "have fun in the Pro Bowl."

"Do I apologize for what I said? No. Do I mean what I said? Yeah," Suggs said. "Could I have worded it a little better? Probably, but the fact of the matter is you can't really consider it a rivalry because you have a few more championships than we do, but this has been steaming for a while."

Suggs brought up how the Patriots acted in 2007 when the teams met as why he doesn't like them. He also said the NFL took extra measures to accomodate Tom Brady after his season-ending knee injury in 2008.

"There was the whole invention of the Brady rule," he said. "Years before, I hit Drew Brees and I accidentally tore his knee up. No rule was made. Of all the quarterbacks in the NFL who got their knees blown out when they got hit -- Carson Palmer got his knee blown out -- but then one guy got hit and changed the whole rule for the NFL?"

Bad blood between Suggs and Brady isn't anything new.

In 2010, a season in which Brady was named NFL MVP, Suggs said he voted for Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick over Brady for the Pro Bowl. He also called Brady's three Super Bowl titles "questionable" because of the "tuck rule" game in 2001 and the Spygate scandal that surfaced in 2007.
