Gold Coast knew last year. They're just waiting on the "official word". If you've read or watched the news lately you'd know they have began recruiting players.

djpower wrote:QLD Roar should also have a name change if more than one Queensland team is entered into the tournement Agreed! Although it will be tough to convince the club executives to rebrand all their merchandise, the fact is, the Roars jersey looks horrible anyway.....what kind of colour scheme is Maroon and Orange????? Team should be renamed Brisbane Roar, or even give the Roar the flick and think of something less embaressing, and stick with the bright Orange, and forget about the traditional Queensland maroon. How good did the Netherlands all orange nike kits with the smart collar look when the Socceroos played them before the WC 2006.

Nah, apparently the FFA wants a more specific location than 'North Australia' to begin with. But if the franchise prospers, they will be allowed to expand their territory. Anyway, didn't FFA say that they aren't confirming anything until after the season ends?

Ha, now we found out what happens when you mix Holland with State of Origin  Now get rid of it! :x GC are gonna wear a kit similar to the Titans and Thunder will wear red, black and white. How that will be arranged and which colour will be most prevalent, I don't know. A green strip would be good in the A-League, but Kossie's gonna have a sook about it clashing with the turf or something like that :d

thunder and galaxy are pathetic names for football teams, what they have to do with football noone knows, thats probably why the aleague teams are using them, to keep in line with the others.
queensland should change their name to brisbane just as melbourne is melbourne and not victoria.

I'm pretty sure there is an FFA board meeting on the 21st of Feb to discuss this and to make a decision. So this rumour and reliable source is bs imo.

I never said they'd announce their decision publicly though ;)
Lowy on TWG on Sunday all but confirmed there will be 2 new teams next season, then probably another 2 teams in 2-3 years time after that, then maybe another 2 a few years after that. he said that 12-14 teams would be ideal.

its what we need... Sure would be great. I can't wait, I'm so sad to see the season finish, but I can't wait till the start of the new season already. It's going to be great.

will be good when theres so many games that its not possible to watch any more. during the last few seasons the rounds have been a tease, you see 4 games and thats just not enough.
