everybody that plays football in NSW knows that most of the rego money is funneled off to the dark depths of Park Lea headquarters while some goes to FFA to fund cahills next steak at a socceroos game.

Isnt it funny how its the people from the north shore who are complaining about rego fees. These people should spare a thought for struggling families in the west where the average income is far less than people who live in the north shore. Heaven forbid these whingers must be struggling to keep the payments up on their BMW's. Maybe a rego fees should be based on a families income?

Spoke to the president at my club about this.

After insurance and the payments to the organisation in charge (which ends up at Football NSW or FFA) the club apparently gets about $20 per registration. We are one of the cheaper clubs to register with also.

We've kept our Senior Membership at $200 for the past 2 seasons. The club keeps $27 of that money the rest goes to our League Administrator, FFV and Insurance.

When I first hit 18 I think we were paying $80, without insurance but with the $10 Soccer Australia Levy.

Being from Victoria its interesting the way the game is run in NSW. In Victoria the Metropolitan Competition is directly administered by the FFV. Country areas had their own associations running competitions but this is slowly changing with these Associations handing authority to the FFV.

While people are complaining about the money handed over to FNSW I have read where many of these Football Associations in NSW are sitting on bank accounts with $1M plus.

In Melbourne the Junior fees are starting to get out of hand. At the bottom end $100 for U7 SSF $200 for U9&U11 SSF and &270 for Juniors. While at the top end $1,000 for juniors and $340 for SSF.

Im sure ive heard that it costs anywhere between $1,400 to $1,800 a year to be playing any of the NSWPL youth teams. This covers registration, coaches fees ( I believe they get paid ) and everything else that comes with being in these squads.
Considering that where I come from ( Canberra ) rego costs about $180 a year but if your an elite player and in the rep squads ii can cost a parent up to $2,000 a year per child. Keep in mind that Canberra's population is about equal to 1 NSWPL clubs catchment area, the costs seem to be very similar.

there is many factors to take into account - insurance takes a big chunk of rego, so does coaching fees, stadium/canteen/ground upkeep, bags/balls/shirts/socks etc etc FNSW dont make much money on rego fees
