Love it.
Wonder if this transfer window will be more painful than the last one which nearly killed me. Reports from some supposed "ITK's" overnight thanks to the Gazidis Q&a that we wont be buying any midfielders as Wenger thinks we're stacked in the area, that we're not in for Aurier and that something big is in the works in regard to a striker.
All most likely BS.

Us being 'not in for Aurier' could just be the same as we were 'not in' for Arshaving and 'not in' for Arteta  In fact I would say there's a good chance of that.
Or we could just be looking at other options at RB.
As for him talking about no midfielders. I think that was more just regarding Cesc and how he's not a priority because we're stacked in that particular area. Ivan did say he was confident of adding what we need, which we would have to assume most definitely includes at the very least a RB, a striker and a GK.

Did that not originate from @TransferSources
We wont sign anyone until after the World Cup, most probably August.

David Ornstein says we have told Barca we won't be exercising the option on Cesc because we're not seeking a creative midfielder. Cesc was apparently keen. Excuse me while I go punch kittens.
In better news, Ornstein says that we are prioritising a striker, RB and GK first, which is good in some logical way I guess.
Also Ox looks like he will only be out for a couple of weeks.

We can stop dreaming now. As expected we're not in for Cesc. I hold no grudges against him, he's a footballer first and foremost and a brilliant one for us but we really have moved on and we already have enough creative players. It will hurt seeing him in blue (most likely) but this doesn't make him scum. We don't want him, he wants to play football. Will improve Chelsea ten fold though who will walk the league if they sign him and Luis. But just as we all expected, we're aiming for a ST, a RB and a back up GK. Whether or not that happens or not is a different matter. Dream signings would be one of Benzema or Cavani. Benzema the more likely of the two if Real move for Suarez or Aguero as expected. Cavani almost impossible, but with most clubs having their striker position sewn up+ PSG and FFP (if they actually give a fuck) could turn it onto something. Again I emphasise dream signings  We'll probably end up with Remy

RB is also an interesting one. Been linked with Aurier/Richards and Uchida. Coleman will probably cost too much due to Everton's new found standing. Dani Alves has one year to go on his contract iirc and Wenger is a known admirer although he looks to be off to PSG.

One extremely optimistic way to look at it is, just imagine the calibre of players we have lined up if we can just reject Cesc like it's nothing

Chambo only out for 1-2 weeks, thank god for that.
Wouldn't mind Barry on a free tbh.

I think I'd put a quality DM ahead of a striker signing, both are very important but if I had to choose one it would be DM. A number of times against top 4 opposition they scored a number of goals straight through the middle and the cb's were left exposed. Arteta, flamini, are not of the quality needed in that position I believe.
Also I'd be happy with Remy but I hope he wouldn't be the only striker signing. Ox and Walcott are both very similar players to Remy and he isn't the top quality striker that is needed.

Obviously signing both a striker and a DM would be preferred, but if it came down to a choice of which one we need more, we absolutely need a striker more.

Flamini could very well be our DM, as long as he's not playing alongside Arteta. Was very good when paired with Rambo. Striker is a must and i don't buy into the Remy rumours. We didn't want him when he came due to his attitude and that's not something that Wenger will change his opinion imo. If we wanted him he'd be ours already with his release fee+ being an Arsenal fan.

More from David Ornstein Quote:Arsenal may also sign a defensive midfielder if right deal available, but not in market for another attacking midfielder Makes sense really. Focus on the absolute must haves, a RB, ST and GK and try for a DM if the right one is there. Obviously the aim would be to get all 4 positions covered, but there is of course a chance it may not happen and it's not worth getting a DM and sacrificing one of the other positions. Imo go hell for leather to get at the very least a RB, ST and GK, and preferably a top class RB and ST and good back up GK, then worry about buying depth for other positions. Belated congratulations to our ladies on winning a record 13th FA Cup. Won 2-0 against Everton and also hit the woodwork another 4 times.

Gerard Pique let the cat out of the bag regarding Cesc Fabregas's transfer to Chelsea.
The Barcelona defender was speaking to Spain manager Vicente del Bosque at a promotional event and even though they covered their mouths their voices were picked up by an active microphone.
Talk is cheap: Both Gerard Pique (left) and Vicente del Bosque (centre) were picked up by microphones
Pique had earlier spoken at a press conference, defending Fabregas.
He said: 'I love Cesc very much but he's going through a difficult situation.
'The club have never valued him as highly as they should have done. He would fit into any side.'
Pique told Del Bosque that he had supported Cesc, to which the Spain manager replied: 'The president [of Barcelona, Josep Bartomeu] isn't going to be happy.
'You're going to drive him mad, poor guy. You're going to upset him.'
Pique replied: 'He [Cesc] told me it's all done. He's going. 33 million [euros] he told me.'
Although they did not state a location for Fabregas' transfer, Chelsea are believed to be the only English side close to sealing a deal for the former Arsenal star.
Fabregas was not first choice on Jose Mourinho's shopping list but the club are keen to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Frank Lampard has left on a free transfer and the Blues need to strengthen their midfield.
Chelsea are lining up several transfers this window, with another La Liga star, Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa passing his medical on Wednesday afternoon.

Well I'm going to run with it, it's good enough for me because that's how he would have felt when he was at Arsenal.
By the way, he isn't actually a club legend at Arsenal is he?

More like an FM club icon. Dragged us through 7-8 years of mediocrity almost single handedly at times but we never won anything so not a legend, no.
Certainly the most loved player since Henry though, but I don't think any rational Arsenal fan is going to hold the Chelsea move against him when if we offered he would come back in a heartbeat. We didn't offer so we can't complain. He still loves this club and will be remembered fondly by many imo.

Yeh, I understand how much of a fan favourite he is and rightly so but have just been hearing from a lot of fans about him being a legend and never understood it, especially at a club like Arsenal.

Apparently Sanchez is available for only 20 million, we should be in for him for that price imo.
Giroud Sanchez-Ozil-Walcott
and Sanchez Cazorla-Ozil-Walcott
Makes too much sense for us to sign him.

If he is available for just 20m it really wouldn't surprise me if we went in for him. Arsene loves a player who can play right across the front line.
