Also pretty happy to get Man Utd away done within the first few weeks.

Honestly, Samba + Cahill over Matthew Upson every day of the week. Haven't seen this Gervinho kid, whats everyone's opinion? Good to see Arsene spending some cash for a change. I reckon we should go for Scott Parker too, he's going on the cheap from what I'm hearing an'all.

We love announcing things on Friday so Gervinho will probably be announced tomorrow. Wouldn't surprise me to see Samba announced in the next week or so either.

Si we apparently are about to tie up the signing of Chris Samba now that he's back in the country. A fee had reportedly already been agreed with Blackburn and the 2 clubs were just waiting for the player to get back from holidays to sort out wages and the like.
We are also apparently actively seeking out another CB believed to be Gary Cahill, and then any other transfer dealings will depend on the futures of Nasri, Cesc and Clichy.

We've also apparently reached an agreement with Gervinho on a 4 year deal and the club hope to announce it before the weekend.

I fucking hate what they do but can understand why they do it.
They know they can't afford what we want for him, so they come out with all this shit hoping that he'll just come out and publicly say he wants to leave in the hope that they can negotiate a lower price. Of course Cesc has to much respect for Arsenal Football Club to do that and has much more class than Barca deserve.

On that note about conduct during transfers; I have to say, Barca have been a disgrace. I've lost all respect for the club. They've gone out of their way to deliberately unsettle him. I thought Barcalona was supposed to be a 'classy' club. They've conducted themselves worse than Madrid.

Nasri could really take a leaf out of Cesc's book about how to conduct yourself during transfer speculation.

If Barca shell out 35 million for him do you think the club will try and at least retain Nasri? The club will try and retain both. Cesc is probably the bigger chance of staying simply because Barca can't afford what we want for him. 35m sure as hell won't be enough. Word is that we are going to offer Nasri an increased contract to what our original offer but still not the 110k he supposedly wants. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 15/6/2011 02:41:03 PM

We need to issue an ultimatum to Nasri. Sign the contract now, or we're shipping you to Old Trafford. We either get Nasri or the large sum of cash United are prepared to pay for him.

I still don't understand how he can justify that he deserves to earn as much as Cesc. In no way does he deserve it. Als he is not one of our best players, I'd have Cesc, Jack, TV and Sagna all above him.
Meanwhile, Lille have confirmed we have begun talks with them about Gervinho.

He's also said that Fabregas is an Arsenal player and isn't going anywhere.
Also reports in France that Gervinho has apparently given his word to Wenger that he will join.
And more rumours about Gary Cahill, apparently we are willing to offer Ignasi Miquel on loan in return so to drop the price a bit. Obviously because Wenger doesn't want to be paying 17m for a guy in the last year of his contract. good, while i dont agree that he should get as much money as he wants, he is one of our best players, if not the best, and it would be a disgrace to let him go.
