Richards and Sagna two best right backs in the league for sure, can't think of many that come close.

Best example is looking at the awareness of the City fullbacks and Arsenal full backs, City are always on the same note as their CB's while Arsenal are all over the shop. Which has been the centrebacks fault not Sanga's. He's been the one solid part of our defence over the years. Out of all the defensive mistakes we make it's incredibly rare that he is responsible... Cheers for that buddy  Edited by sanga1: 28/2/2012 03:45:45 PM

Could be good for us I suppose, again in the same way the Arteta is good for us without lighting the club up. Van Persie injury isn't suspected to be serious. Hopefully it just means he misses the international game and comes back for us fresh. On another story, does anyone get incredibly pissed off by the repetitive stupidity of some of the comments on goal.com articles? fuuuuuuuuu-

Sat out training as a precaution. Will start against England. Quote:Underwhelming in the same way that signing Arteta was underwhelming. Could be good for us I suppose, again in the same way the Arteta is good for us without lighting the club up. Not underwhelming at all if it comes off. Quality striker who can play on the left just as effectively. Arteta was only deemed underhwleming because he was spoken of as Cesc's replacement when he was never going to be his replacement, he never could be. Also reports that we're lining a player up in France, apparently it's Olivier Giroud. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 29/2/2012 01:16:35 PM

Okay, if your talking either Podolski or Girous as a backup to RVP and increased competition for the wings when needed then definitely not underwhelming. Been a while since we've had a good reliable back up striker. But we don't need both of them, one is enough preferably Podolski. Not sure if Girous would suite out style as much. Do you know how long Podolski has left on his contract? or how much the transfer fee is expected to be?

His contract, like Robin's, is up in 2013, so won't be a big transfer fee if it happens.
As for Giroud and Podolski, I'd much rather get both and sell Chamakh.

Quote: Arsenal to play Manchester City in Beijing Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that the first-team squad will be travelling to China in July to play Manchester City in the famous Beijing National Stadium. Arsenal and Manchester City will play each other in the inaugural ‘China Cup’, a one-off match in Beijing’s ‘Bird’s Nest’ Stadium on Friday, July 27, kick-off 8pm local time. The Gunners will be travelling to China for the second consecutive year, following their successful summer Asia tour in July 2011, in which the Club played matches in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Hangzhou, China. Arsenal Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis said: “Further to our hugely successful visit to Hangzhou in 2011, everyone at Arsenal is extremely excited to once again be visiting China this year. “We enjoy huge support in Asia and by playing a match in Beijing, we will once again be bringing the Club close to our loyal fans in China. The players and staff had an amazing time in China last year and we are all looking forward to visiting this great country again in July. “The match against Manchester City is sure to be an exciting spectacle, with many great players from both sides playing in front of thousands of supporters in the wonderful ‘Bird’s Nest’ Stadium. It is also fitting that two English clubs are playing each other on the opening day of the London 2012 Olympics, in the stadium which hosted the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.” Ticket details and travel options for supporters wishing to attend the match in Beijing will feature soon on Arsenal.com, together with any developments and news regarding Arsenal’s summer pre-season schedule. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/arsenal-to-play-manchester-city-in-beijing

Van persie, quiet game for Holland and comes off at HT. Only way that could've gone better is if he didn't play at all.
In other International news, Joel Campbell scored against Wales and Henri Lansbury scored for the England U21's and apparently had a blinder.

Lansbury scored the 1st and 3rd goals, Ox scored the fourth from the spot. Also Campbell's goal turned out to be the winner for Costa Rica

Now I don't think for a second he was shooting, but wow anyway.
Although watching the replay, the more replays I watch the more I'm doubting that it was just a mishit cross.
Great goal by Joel Campbell as well. Excellent finish.

I'm starting to like our chances of catching Spurs in the next few weeks. Bale is out for 3 weeks, there's a new gloominess around the club now that Redknapp is known to be leaving and on top of that they have very rough fixtures this month. If we can beat Liverpool whilst they lose to MU, then Wilshere might not end up losing his bet with the Tottenham fans afterall  In other news, the Milan's are after Podolski now too: http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zone/2012/03/01/2939483/inter-and-ac-milan-join-race-for-podolski-report

Quote: Wenger is February Manager of the Month Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger has been rewarded for his side's unbeaten league run during February with the Barclays Manager of the Month award. Wenger receives the accolade for the 12th time in his career after Arsenal forced their way back into the top four in the Barclays Premier League. Having secured a point away to Bolton Wanderers at the start of the month, their record-breaking 7-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers signalled a return to form. A hat-trick from Robin van Persie, a brace from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and goals from Mikel Arteta and Thierry Henry helped Wenger’s side record their biggest league win at the Emirates. A visit to Sunderland saw Wenger’s side take another three points, as Gunners legend Henry secured the late victory with a 90th-minute goal in the final domestic match of his loan spell. Arsenal finished the month with a thrilling 5-2 victory over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur. Having trailed 2-0 in the first half, goals from Bacary Sagna, Van Persie, Tomas Rosicky and a brace from Theo Walcott secured the win for Wenger’s side. The decision was made by the Barclays Awards Panel, which includes representatives from football’s governing bodies, the media and fans. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-wins-february-manager-of-the-month :)

It's funny when you think about it. All the talk about how shit we are because of those 2 cup losses, but we've actually been in really good form over the last month in the league. Played 4, Won 3, Drawn 1, Lost 0, Scored 14, Conceded 5

It will be a close game. With Dagger and Stevie out it definitely doesn't help. If we perform like we can then we'll win but it wont be easy.

Apparently a 90% chance Podolski will come to Arsenal. I did't realise he had such a great season, 15 goals in 18 league games! And theres rumours he has a 10ish mill buyout clause. That would be the steal of the century judging by that form.
Feeling very confident about tonight, Gerard is out and we've never looked better.

True, but we've seen some pretty big transfer fee's for players with 1 year left. Just hoping Spurs don't become a part of this. They might be on the lookout for a new striker come the seasons end. It does make you wonder about RVP when we're on the look out for a quality striker this many months before the transfer window. Maybe just a safety precaution.

Heard on ESPN last night that he is previous club gets a percentage of his next transfer so they are going to try and get as much as they can. So he will go for a lot more than people will expect.

He won't go for more than 20m. That's the absolute most, and I don't think it will get near that. Will proba sbe around 12-14m.
