Poldi makes it 2-0 after 15 mins from a penalty after Ox was brought down.

Some of the build up play in the attacking third for us has just been outstanding. Great to see a week before the season opener.

3-0 after 43mins. Poldi with his 2nd. Brilliant goal. Poldi plays it out wide to Gibbs who cuts it back for Lukas to slam home.

HT: 3-0, just outstanding. The change in this team from the Asian Tour is just incredible. While it is only a friendly seeing some of the link up play you can't help but get excited.
Best players in that half were easily Santi, Theo and Giroud. Santi Cazorla, what a fucking player, just amazing to watch. So comfortable on the ball, amazing passing range and so strong on both feet. Theo looks really really sharp, and I think will love playing with Cazorla, he's had a field day down the right hand side.
Giroud has been great upfront. Even though he hasn't scored some of his build up play has been outstanding. Could have had a couple goals himself if not for some great saves from the keeper. The kind of player that can threaten from any position whether it be setting someone else up or having a go himself.

Also the way Podolski, Cazorla and Theo have interchanged so fluidly has been excellent.

Gervinho makes it 4-0 after 62 mins. Wonderful goal. Picks up the ball in his own half, beats the defender for pace gets into the box and somehow squeezes the shot in at the near post.

RvP is on and has the captains armband straight away so make of that what you will.
FT: 4-0. Great hitout to end the pre-season. So many positives, especially in that first half. 2nd half slowed down, predictably, after the amount of subs that were made but Gervinho looked outstanding in the 2nd half. Has looked really really sharp all season, still needs to work on his composure in front of goal a bit, but looking much better than last season.
RvP looked sluggish, which was to be expected with this being his first hit out of the pre-season.

Really liked what I saw from Giroud. Excellent all round centre forward who fit in very well considering it was his first game.
Also reports in Italy that we could do a deal with Milan that would see Bendtner go there and Mexes come to us. Not sure if there's any truth in it, but I'd be very interested in that.

I'm guessing the lineup looked something like this? Giroud Podolski - Chamberlain - Walcott Coquelin - Cazorla Gibbs - Vermaelen - Mertesacker - Yennaris Manonne Saw the highlights. Great signs especially for all three new signings :d

Great signs especially for all three new signings :d Yeah that was basically it, with Cazorla and Ox constantly swapping, had the potential to not work but they swapped so fluidly, like they'd been playing together for years. Theo also swapped consistently with whoever was playing off of Giroud and had easily his best game of the pre-season. He's going to love playing with Santi.

Interesting that Wenger is playing Santi so deep. Loving the away kits too. Definitely one of my favourites ever.

No surprise he's playing him in the middle, played there a fair bit for Malaga last season. What is interesting is how he's been using Ox this pre-season. Everyone seems to see him as a wide player, but he's been excellent in the middle this pre-season. Think his future is most definitely there.

Ryo has officially joined Wigan on loan for the season. Very good move for him, even better if Moses does end up moving. Also Alex Song wrote:I am not going to lie if I said there is no interest but I am at Arsenal and I am happy at Arsenal :d Edited by sydneycroatia58: 13/8/2012 10:23:57 PM

Yeah only way he'd be sold is if he wanted to leave, the club definitely doesn't want to sell.

I'm tipping Arsenal to have a really, REALLY solid crack at the title this year. Looks to be a well rounded team with great depth.

Pretty harsh on Djourou to be lumped in with them, i don't think he's that bad for a 4th choice CB.

I still don't get RVP. He wanted to leave because we have no ambition yet we have signed Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla.
