Hinderz wrote:Lots of chatter about RVP going to United. According one of Arsenals more reliable "ITKs"'
@AFCAMDEN United have been "pushing very hard" for RVP, but of late Robin has been in great spirits and buzzing in training. Hard one to call. He trained well in Germany this morning and is expected to take part in Sunday's friendly against Cologne.
I'd hate us to sell to Man U but 10m and Welbeck (also in the last year of his deal and stalling) and I'd think about it if I were Arsene.
Edited by Hinderz: 9/8/2012 12:27:22 PM Nothing we don't know in there really, we know United have been pushing hard for RvP no surprises there. I still don't think he'll leave, and that's only because I think Arsene will refuse to sell to United. Anyways, I could be wrong but that's just my gut feeling at the moment. Here's an interesting little graphic on Santi. Interesting to note that he had the highest number of goals from outside the box(8) in all of Europe. Hope to see that continue this season. Last season Miki seemed the only one willing to have a go regularly.

Starting to feel uneasy about these Song to Barca rumours. Dismissed it as baseless rumours at first but they keep persisting and there seem to have been talks. Would be shattered if we lost him. Alex Song wrote:Forget Barcelona, Arsenal have given me everything. If I had to leave i'd break down and cry. It's my dream to win the league here That was a couple of years ago though and Robin has shown strong quotes of loyalty like this can mean can mean very little.

Cazorla has the best average of the four stats in all the Major European leagues shown here. Good for Arsenal with high intercepts and high average tackles per game Edited by moofa: 10/8/2012 12:11:48 PM

I would rather keep Song than lose him just so we can maybe re-sign RvP and not sign a Song replacement.

If you get as much as they are talking about it could mean keeping Van Persie and offering him a good contract I think I might even prefer keeping Song to RVP. And I'm not even one of the ones that are bitter against him. 29 years old and injury prone with ready made replacements in Podolski and Giroud -vs- 24 year old entering his prime in a position that we don't have any like for like replacements. moofa wrote:Cazorla has the best average of the four stats in all the Major European leagues shown here. So Renne's have said that they have received an offer for M'Vila from an English team. What are the odds it's us?

So rumours coming through now are that Arsenal BOARD have accepted a 25 million bid (By United) for RVP and Wenger is not happy (Obviously). Sorry for posting another stupid rumour about RVP which we hear every bloody day but this is the first rumour where the board have actually accepted something.
I can already feel the hate towards RVP in my veins.. United, disgusting.

Edited by tom180: 12/8/2012 11:38:33 AM While I would believe a rumour that the board accepted a 25m offer. What makes that rumour hard to believe is United apparently offering 25m.

I'd be surprised if we coughed up 25m tbh, but Fergie has always been a HUGE admirer of RVP and despite his age and fragility I wouldn't be surprised if Fergie was desperate to sign him

RVP went about it all the wrong way to start with, and looking like making himself hated even more by going to United. I hope he does an Owen or Berbatov.

Would rather not have M'Vila after all his prima dona ways put me off , and I don't think him and Giroud get along

Why would we buy M'Villa when we have Scott Parker, Huddlestone and Sandro in a holding midfield role?

quichefc wrote:Did you see Sam Lyon (fmr bbc live text commentator) say via twitter that as it stands on paper Arsenal now have a stronger squad than both of the Manchester teams... bring in Sahin and he's probably right.
So Arsene's done his shopping now he has to decide how to fit it all in the fridge and cupboards... having well stocked supplies is the best feeling!
Ooooh, I just had a rare surge of optimism. I didn't recognise it at first but yep, it was definitely optimism...
"We're the finest team the word has ever seen!" "Come on Arsenal!" Bit late here but seriously, is that guy trolling?

LIne up against Koln
Mannone; Yennaris, Mertesacker, Vermaelen, Gibbs; Coquelin, Ox, Cazorla; Walcott, Giroud, Podolski
Looks like it'll be Ox and Coquelin in the middle with Cazorla in the hold and Theo and Poldi on the wings.
I'd expect a full team change at HT, with RvP playing the 2nd half.

1-0 after 7 mins. Flick on off the near post and TV comes in unmarked to head it past the Koln keeper.
