Always a positive being in the black. Canterbury United recorded a profit of pver $52,000 this year which is excellent when Auckland City, the most successful side in the league, has an annual budget of $300,000-400,000.

Interesting. In both situations, it is excellent for the club. Are Melbourne Knights full or semi-pro?

Maybe from all those $5 chip buckets I bought at games, kept them in the black. $3 for a can of Coke doesn't help either.

Your thoughts guys Maybe they should spend more on players then. Having a profit of $150K is no good if you are playing State League.

All the best, good luck, and well done if it happens. I'm from New Zealand. We have our own revolution to mastermind.

That is good to see. I long for the day when A-League clubs (or a large percentage of them) are living withing their means. Club owned stadiums is must as far as this is concerned .

Just saying, a prominent VPL club which was thought by all to be doing well, had someone taking the 'proceeds' of game day (such as bar and food takings) and siphnoning them away. Won't name the VPL club publically though.

Your kidding right? What a dog, they need to be hunted down and prosecuted to the full extent that the law will allow.

pimpsta wrote:im sure that VPL isnt alone, a few NSWPL clubs might be in trouble of those type of actins too Happens to a lot of clubs and not just soccer clubs, cricket, hockey, rugby league, Aussie Rules, all aren't immune to this. It's the nature of non-full time professional clubs.
