Guys over the coming days i will post the coaches who will be coaching at Olympic next season and a bit of a bio on them, this is important as this is the highest level of football in australia at these ages.

George Markos, Under 18’s coach for 2011 season

Sydney Olympic is proud to announce Mr George Markos as the coach for our Under 18’s team for the 2011 season.

The Technical Director of the Club has had lengthy discussions with all coaches as a team but also individually to explain to them what is expected in the 2011 season, where we will all see many changes to promote development from within our Club.

Mr Markos mentioned after his appointment with Sydney Olympic: “I am very excited to be with Sydney Olympic FC for a second season and I am confident that with the valuable help of my coaching team, we can build on the great season we had last season, to make it even better in 2011.”

Paoktzi, you can actually write a rational piece without sounding like a nob, well done. Try bringing this rationality across into the other threads and you will actually help your cause rather than bring it down.

And this was an interesting post, I look forward to more like it about grassroots football.

my opinions are shared with many but when i raise them here people get very annoyed because they are not aligned with there own, but that is wrong

Paoktzi, If you can transfer this kind of balance to other threads, your opinion will be taken far more seriously.

Thanks though, this is interesting to read and is an example of what we need to be doing more in New Zealand - basing youth centres of excellence around prominent domestic clubs.

Tony Candy, Under 16’s coach for 2011 season

Sydney Olympic is proud to announce Mr Tony Candy as the coach for our Under 16’s team for the 2011 season.

The Technical Director of the Club has had lengthy discussions with all coaches as a team but also individually to explain to them what is expected in the 2011 season, where we will all see many changes to promote development from within our Club.

Tony was happy to take on the role and he has been appointed to drive our Under 16’s team into further success together with his assistant Mr Jim Lucia.

Mr Candy mentioned after his appointment with Sydney Olympic: “Both myself and my manager, Jim Lucia are excited by the Clubs decision to appoint as the head coach for the Under 16’s for the 2010/2011 season, my aims will be to produce the best players this will be achieved in the development of the players technical skills, and game skills/game hardness and game awareness understanding how the game is played learning different playing systems best suited for the players development and performance. Our goals will be to win the Minor premiership and Finals and producing players that have the attitude and ambition to go to make it to the next level.”

Involved being assistant coach for NSW U13s in camp

FNSW Senior Development Program Assistant Coach (2007-2009)

Trinity Grammar School U14A’s (2010) & U15A’s (2005)

CAS Premiers Trinity Grammar School: Director of Prep Football Coaching (2006-present), coached at four Kanga Cups (2007-10), one tour to Italy/France (2008), Harry Williams Cup (2006) U14 Runner Up, Bill Turner Cup (2005, 2007-10). Mr Gray mentioned after his appointment with Sydney Olympic: “I am moving into my third season in a row at Sydney Olympic. Within the framework of the team playing football my emphasis is on helping players to develop their strengths and radically improve their areas for improvement. I have retained part of the squad from season 2010 and I am looking to fill spots, particularly in the striker department. If you are interested in trialling for the U15's please outline your playing history/position etc in a brief email to the Technical Director of the Club. “

I see merits in his statement General, but can probably word it better.

Sydney Olympic historically has one of the premier youth development systems in Australia and as a result is attracting quality applications for key appointments in the age-group arm of the club.

come down to the trial open day and the trials and you will see close to 1000 kids on display

Sydney Olympic is proud to announce Mr Daniel Grant as the coach for our Under 13’s team for the 2011 season.

The Technical Director of the Club has had lengthy discussions with all coaches as a team but also individually to explain to them what is expected in the 2011 season, where we will all see many changes to promote development from within our Club. Harry Paraskevaidis, Under 14’s coach for 2011 season

Sydney Olympic is proud to announce Mr Harry Paraskevaidis as the coach of our Under 14’s team for the 2011 season.

The Technical Director of the Club Mr Ian Crook has had lengthy discussions with all coaches as a team but also individually to explain to them what is expected in the 2011 season, where we will all see many changes to promote development from within our Club.

Harry has worked with this team from last season and he finally agreed to take on the boys for another season to drive them into further success.

The Board and Technical Director of Sydney Olympic would like to wish Harry all the best in his role as the Under 14’s coach and we will all be on his side during the season to meet the expectations of parents, players and Directors of the Club.
