It would be considered dangerous if he continued with his studs, but he took precautions to make sure it wasn't dangerous. He got his foot out of the way of Suarez as soon as he won the ball and made sure his studs weren't even close to Suarez so there was no chance of hitting him and tried to avoid as much of a collision as he could which he did very well.

Regardless of what the truth is, you don't want your club coming out and saying "we're not going to be challenging for silverwear this season, we're too far behind the pack". Ever. You don't see Aston Villa or Sunderland coming out and saying this. It goes without saying and the players and club do their best to finish as high up the table as possible.

You never want to hear players, coaches or owners writing off the clubs chances for anything, regardless of how outlandish that concept may be in reality.

As for Suarez's comments, it's largely due to some creative reporting that this story had anything to it anyway.

Suarez scored for Uruguay in a 4-2 win over Bolivia. Was a scrappy goal but well taken.

Played well in general considering the state of the pitch. Complained to the ref every time he went down. Just being his normal self really.

FUNNIEST RED CARD, EVER.

Laughed my balls off. Very professional dive from Suarez. Very impressed, especially when Rodwell did his level best to leave the studs out of the challenge. It looked really bad in the first instance, which was what the ref saw and I was fully expecting him to pull out red straight away, but on the replay Rodwell pulled his studs in and Suarez managed to make the most out of it.

Having said that, though, Rodwell's absence made no difference to the overall shape of Everton, because they were only playing one up front anyway, and Saha was thoroughly shit. Blue shite fail, can't cope with possession football.

So instead he goes and spends the money on three players he doesn't need instead of upping his bid for the one player he does...

And who would that one player be?

As for 3 players he didn't need :lol: Needed a CB, Got Mertesacker. Needed a LB, bought Santos. Needed another midfielder, got both Benayoun and Arteta. Needed another striker, Got Park.

That's 28m+ in superfluous spending but he wouldn't cough up the necessary 20m for Jones. You're kidding, right?

Gervinho has stepped straight in as a replacement for Nasri. Not exactly not needed. Jenkinson was signed on a free, and was signed as one for the future, just unfortunate that he's needed right now. Chamberlain, again was signed because he is a fucking outstanding talent.

As for not coughing up for Jones, he coughed up, and had a bid accepted. Jones just chose United.

Also where did you get 28m+ from. Gervinho was signed for 10.5m. Jenkinson was a free + the 1m compensation and Chamberlain was somewhere in the region of 12-15m. That adds up to somewhere between 23.5 and 26.5m.

Jenkinson still cost 1m in mother club money.

Why don't Arsenal spend money on anyone that's an 'outstanding talent'...you know, but in a positino where they actually need a decent player...like in defence?

Even if I overquoted the transfer fee, that's still MORE than the asking price for Phil Jones, who would be doing a whole fucking lot more for Arsenal's defence than Jenkinson and Mertesacker combined.
