Terrific result!
Andy scored on his anniversary, Dirk gets his 50th, Carra up to 3rd in all time apps, 500th goal scored under Kenny, and Suarez's ban is over!! \:d/ \:d/ \:d/
Not only that but it was a top performance. Andy was fantastic again, two games in a row, hopefully he can go on a run. Adam got two fine assists. Enrique, what a beast. El Toro.
Clean sheet is good, the two CBs and Pepe were solid. Just, stoked!
Chelsea dropped 2 points, only 4 points from the top 4 now. It's on! :D

Good result. Hopefully we're back on the wagon. It's good to see the team clicking again, the only real concern to take from the day was Spearing not quite clicking, but that was largely from a lack of match practice. The team could have done far more damage to Wolves and big ups to Hennessy.
That must be the first time Carroll has scored two games in a row since April 2011?

No point getting excited about Carroll unless he backs it up against Spurs next week. I mean, Wolves do have the 4th worst defence in the league...But a ray of hope is a ray of hope I guess.

He had a solid game against Utd and has now backed it up with another strong showing + a goal. Good platform to get him going.

Where did this idea that Carroll had a good game against United come from? Sure, he wasn't horrible and he won a flick on at the end but he was still close to the worst player on the pitch (De Gea aside).

TBH I only saw the first half - but in that space of time his workrate and control of the play was great, especially considering he was alone in a 5-4-1.

Even taking aside everything else, setting up the winner like he did, followed by a great display and a goal this morning, he's going to be buzzing. Would love him to net one in our 4-1 win over Spurs ;)

He's still going to get pushed around like a schoolboy by any physical center half. I'd like to see him put on 5-10kg in the off-season this summer so he can really marshal the forward line. It would be interesting to see how much his weight has fluctuated since before his knee injury. He's starting to get that touch that served him so well at Newcastle back though, and that's definitely a good start.

Honestly, if he were in a United shirt you'd be praising the performance. Shit, you've been heralding mediocre performances from Fletcher for majority of the last decade...

We don't jizz over a few flick ons and work rate.
Fletcher has been key in a number of title wins and European runs, he has it over Carroll in my books.
Have to end it though, never going to agree  I just think Carroll is a waste of space.

haha settle eh - I certainly can't say Carroll is on fire but his contribution has been far better the last 2games compared to the whole season, importantly as I had mentioned he must be finally starting to settle and feel part of it more and putting one away certainly would be good medicine but a long way to go yet but promising finally ! May I add re Fletch - yer well nothing to get OTT about, record states a cog amongst a large winning squad, nothing great but a piece to the puzzle nothing more nothing less and definately Carroll is not a comparo. BB now jizz off ;)

Fletcher was as expendable as the next man. If this season hasn't demonstrated that, I don't know what does.
The important thing is that Carroll is showing sings of getting back to where he was and doing what he did to Man City last season.

Love the change of heart Afro :d
You were certain the other day that he won't fire.
I honestly hope he does improve, I just don't see it happening on a consistent basis. However, the ball from Adam was world class.

Busby wrote:You were certain the other day that he won't fire. If it takes him 6-7 months of the season to find some kind of form then that's not really the ideal player, is it? I'm used to constant disappointment from Liverpool strikers...even the ones who perform well turn into duds or walk out on the club. I long for the days of Rushie...(And even he walked out on us...twice) I'm entitled to be cautiously optimistic. But old habits of disappointment are hard to break.

On Carroll this morning, I thought there were a few opportunities when he was able to make the best of ordinary delivery into the area, as you would expect a player of his stature to, but he had no teamates making their runs into the right areas.

Yep, one of the biggest problems we still have is the lack of support. Especially in the first half. Hopefully with Suarez back he'll stay up top with Andy and offer that support.

I know that's sarcastic, but when they played together just before Luis' suspension, they had a few really good games. Everton springs to mind.
And with Andy now looking better, it will be more successful. Not just Andy, but the entire team is gelling more as the season goes on.
Spurs is a massive game... Praying the rumors of VDV and Ade being out are true.

Have to agree, Fletcher doesn't get the plaudits he deserves because he isn't at all flashy but he is damn consistent and almost always excels in the big European games. Tbh if he recovers well enough from his illness he has captain potential, he is a huge part of our success in recent years and I don't think it's a coincidence our midfield has continually fallen apart against Barca without Fletch in the side.
