There has been a lot of talk about him leaving in any case. Wont surprise me - I think I read Kuyt, Maxi and Bellers together earn something like 14m a year... a lot of money. Being linked with Walcott which I would be happy with.
Check this out:

Amazing talent. It's so rare to see a player with exceptional agility, close control and dribbling like that, but also have an extraordinary passing range... reminsicent of Xabi. And only 18. I expect him to get some time on the pitch this season for sure.
Yeah I would certainly like us to sign another attacking player... Carroll, Suarez and Borini are our only real strikers atm, with Kuyt and probably Bellers gone. One more striker is important.

Better to be paying Walcott 90-100k and playing him regularly on the right than paying Maxi 60k and he sits on the bench 8 weeks out of 10. Quote:How is pre-season meaningless? The fans pay, they should be able to see all the best players.
It also gives the players match fitness which you don't get from just training. Assuming that Reina stays injury free, he'll play 38 games in the league, if we make the quarter finals of the Europa League that's 14 more games he'll play - so he's facing 52 games there, plus if he's between the sticks in cup matches and pre-season games after the america tour (in order to build up your aforementioned match fitness) you're talking over 5000 minutes in goal this season.

Would like to see Tello to Liverpool if he can go for a decent price.
Also I hope that if Rodgers agreed not to buy any Swansea's players (which I hope he did as it is the right thing to do) that Swansea will also offer liverpool to bif for any players that another club has come in for and they are going to sell them anyway.

That seems like a reasonable agreement until you consider that Liverpool could do a deal with another club where they bid for a Swansea player just to allow Liverpool to make an offer.

I know its a pretty pointless tour, but you'd think Rodgers would want to have the full squad together having just taken over Should we play to our full potential and go deep into the Europa League, Pep could well be playing 60+ games this season, it seems fair enough that we're not taking him on a meaningless tour. How is pre-season meaningless? The fans pay, they should be able to see all the best players. It also gives the players match fitness which you don't get from just training. No they shouldn't, they purchased tickets to a pre-season game, if they expect to see a first 11 than they are delusional. He's a GK, playing for a team that in all likely hood will dominate possession in the majority of games, one pre-season game and a two-legged play-off coupled with a month training with the Spanish national team is plenty enough.

Worth noting that Benjo's link is nothing more than speculation based around Lucas being in the american tour squad.

Of course, he'll get 15-20 at most I think. Still, if he plays 20 in this, 30 in the next, 45 after that, he'll be ready for the start of the PL season.
Also... isnt' the Europa draw today?

If I'm reading Brenton's post right:
NK Osijek (Croatia) or Kalmar FF (Sweden) FC Arsenal Kyiv (Ukraine) FC Spartak Trnava (Slovakia) or Sligo Rovers FC (Ireland) FK Renova (Macedonia) or FC Gomel (Belarus) Dundee United FC (Scotland) Maccabi Netanya FC (Israel) or Kuopion Palloseura (Finland)
We'll get one of those teams. Carn Sligo Rovers :P

Stumbled across this. Nice reading. The names are hard to read, but I'm pretty sure it's: Left: Alex Ferguson, Kaka, Vieira, Theirry Henry, Right: Pele, De Rossi, Zidane, Torres, Ancelotti

Consider it bookmarked for the next time Mancs fap over Paul Scholes :p Hang on, we all admire Gerrard and have him up there with the great players. Ask any United fan which player in the history of the EPL would we have liked at United, besides maybe someone like Zola, the majority would say Gerrard. We admit his class, you lot just don't want to believe that we do. It's just you lot can't accept that a little bloke from Manchester could be better. Edited by busbybabe: 20/7/2012 05:30:18 PM

This so much, Gerrard is a player I have a ton of respect for. We really don't hate Liverpool anywhere near as much as you guys hate us, in fact Busby and I are on record several times in declaring we want Liverpool to stop slumping so you can challenge us again and build the rivalry up. Gerrard deserves all that praise, but lets be honest, that's nothing on the praise Scholes has amassed ;) EDIT Interesting to note that the context of SAF's quote there was in who he would have to replace Keane and partner Scholes, such a shame Scholes cut his England career short and these two weren't able to establish a partnership, they would have been a joy to watch playing alongside each other.
