I don't think we're weaker. Kuyt nor Maxi had much of a role last year and we've got Cole, Aqua, Pacheco and Borini in (essentially)
And we'll sign another 2-3 players before September. No stressing yet.

For me, your signings have been 'squad fillers' more than anything. Would like to see you guys become a bit more aspirational in your acquisitions.

It perplexes me that most of Spurs signings or options tos ign are like the most obvious and yet Liverpool went for the obscure at inflated prices.
Put a gag on Suarez please. He is at it again, at some point you have to think he will leave. In the whole of GB he is hated barring one red half of Liverpool.

Quote:"I think they jeer me and they boo me because they must be scared of facing a player like me," he said. "They fear me, but that doesn't affect me. I'm just hurt because we lost and we are going home. I can take the abuse … but I think it was a total lack of respect from the crowd to boo when we were trying to sing our national anthem. I think those things should not happen." How on earth is there anything wrong with that?

He wasn't actual complaining about the booing during the match. I did quite like this part though  Quote:I think they jeer me and they boo me because they must be scared of facing a player like me Na mate, they just don't like you

He has clearly become a problem and one part he is saying they dont respect him and then he says its because they fear him. He is asking for respect then almost sort of says that he is better than them.

How is that in any way a poor reflection on Suarez? :-s To be booed and jeered during a national anthem is disgraceful. Tbh, seeing as this is the Olympics (in all that it stands for) booing during a game is pretty poor on the crowds part as well.

You're taking a line from the article, not his quote. They're twisting it to aggrandize it.
He only said they lacked respect IRT booing during the anthem, which is fair enough.

He says himself he has no problem with the abuse during the match, just that the booing during the anthem was a lack of respect. I mean I don't like Suarez just as much as anyone else, but I think you're trying a bit to hard to find anything to hold against him in that article.

Yeah, that's some horribly embellished rage from Zimbos. The only time he uses the words "lack of respect" in the interview is when he refers to fans booing during the Uruguay national anthem. Which is spot on, no fans should be booing during ANY national anthem. Quote:For me, your signings have been 'squad fillers' more than anything. Would like to see you guys become a bit more aspirational in your acquisitions. This. There's not a single player we've been linked to in the last 2 weeks who I'd expect to be in the stating XI on a regular basis. Borini, Allen, Dempsey...it all just smacks of a total lack of ambition. We've gotten rid of 3 fringe players in Aurelio, Maxi and Kuyt...and then we're being linked to nothing BUT fringe players - not to mention the returns of Cole, Aquilani and Pacheco.

Talking about CM's, I know Christian Eriksen says he wants to stay at Ajax for another season (which I agree with) but why haven't clubs done deals similar to Amini and De Bruyne where they buy him and loan them back for a year in the same deal (no recall clause)

I suppose im letting my United red eyes just let me see Suarez for what i want to and ive already said i disagree with the booing during the national anthem. I think though you will find it was only aimed at Suarez and no disrepect to the anthem.
I do find however, for him to say its because they fear and face him is a bit conceited. obviously thinks of himself very highly when in actual fact its because people just hate him.

He's a player whose game is driven on confidence. If I recall, Ronaldo wasn't entirely dissimilar a few years back. But you still love him. Almost as much as he loves himself.

This is hilarious. A United fan criticising Suarez for thinking highly of himself when Ronaldo thought just as or more highly of himself, but of course it's ok when he does it

All i said was, Suarez is bound to be booed, if he claims he can handle it, then why doesnt he just shut up and get on with it, why must he then also go and say things like, "its because they fear me". A comment like that only invites more hatred from fans, almost implies he is better than them.

Vaughn/Afro agree whole heartedly on our signings - sure I don't expect big name signings but above squad fillers and as for Cole as much as I liked his play long ago he isn't what he used to be but you can tell BR has hopes in him bringing him back and giving him the chance time will tell but I'm not excited thats for sure. Carroll needs to go then watch him perform better elsewhere knowing our luck ! We are at the start of the new path of the new Managers vision, in pain from the over spending pre season last and underperformance/s by these guys, I don't think its lack of ambition but its lack of funds and bad timing and we are going to start the season under done imo, I'd like to be proven wrong [-o< Edited by M.L.: 2/8/2012 10:59:05 AM

Suarez can't catch a break it seems. On face value it would seem he is being a) arrogant and b) a whiney bitch but his quote appears to be the result of a question that he has responded to. As a professional who has in the past been outspoken I think he's a soft target for fans.
In saying all of this his comment is still arrogant and it would probably have been better if he said "I don't know" as all his response has done is give the lovely people of Great Britain another excuse to jeer him.
