Coates shouldn't be anywhere near the XI in a must-win game. Yes he should! He did well against CITY! and we need him in to compete with Crouch at set pieces... spathi wrote:You got no room for Stevie in your preferred line up? Nope... not on current form, but i'm a bit drunk so yeah chuck him back in why not champ

worst case scenario... stoke score some wonder goal early on or a set piece then we're chasing the game and to worsen things they park the bus! it's key to get off to a flyer against the potters tonight!

Coates was poor against City and a contributing factor in the first goal we conceded failing to clear our lines and communicate with Skrtel.

Coates was certainly not poor against City. Skrtel should be looking over his shoulder, especially with his form.
Coates is only 21 too... freaky. For a DC, he's going to be an absolute beast in 3-4 years.

Got the line up correct lads =;
Reina, Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Johnson, Allen, Gerrard, Sahin, Suso, Sterling, Suarez. Subs: Jones, Henderson, Cole, Assaidi, Coates, Borini, Carragher.
Thoughts?

Rodgers was right to say what he said. Look at his man management with Suso, Sterling etc. Getting the best out of his players.
Downing just has a shit mentally - Rodgers has challenged Hendo and Downing to step up. Hendo took it on board and has started playing better. Downing looks even shitter than before and has a whinge. He hasn't got the mentality. Don't care if he fucks off in Jan.
I don't criticise BR for that.
On the lineup - very happy. Hopefully Sterling/Suso don't get the shit kicked out of them.

Downing was never going to work out. I said the day we signed him that he wouldn't.

Wow Suarez, that was a shocker. Not the best thing to do when you're trying to get some sympathy for the previous decisions.
Well, standard Liverpool Match-Report Template: dominating the game 2 shots against the post no mention of the opposition striker Penalty denied dropped points.

I know it's at home but considering both line ups, a point against Stoke isn't that bad a result for Liverpool. Just the name of Stoke makes it sound worse than it is.

It's at home. We can't keep dropping points at home and then expect to be competing in Europe.
Furthermore, we can't keep outplaying the opposition and then be satisfied with a point. THE IDEA OF THE GAME IS TO PUT THE BALL IN THE BACK OF THE NET!

A point at home against Stoke is most definitely not a good point.

A point against stoke period is most definitely not a good point. They should be relegation cannon fodder.

I fucking detest Stoke. I'd rather watch grass grow than watch them play. Just thugs, the lot of them.

Similar to the last half of last season - good general play but no goals to seal the win ! Pressure keeps building up for the result its a bloody melting pot, Jan can't come sooner they have to buy an out and out striker.

We look for the slightest contact, we slow it down to the slowest possible viewing to prove someones toe touched a player in the box. It's a contact sport. The slightest contact in midfield is the same as in the box. The rules don't change.

Some obvious late hits as we see many times over - just needs not to over act as much and he'd get more free kicks, he takes it thats for sure just reduce the additional acting Luis and you'll be admired as your touch and turn is fantastic hence why your taken out.

Yeah, I think most of them he'd have been awarded a free kick if he DIDN'T feel the need to do a barrel roll every fucking time there was contact.

This is why people have a go at him more than Valencia/Young/et al; because their fans don't try to justify his cheating or pretend he's an poor, innocent, misunderstood man. There's definitely a few clips in there that are just some blind LFC fan in there tryingt to play Suarez as some hard-done-by gimp. But you can't deny that there are at least half a dozen legitimate fouls in there that should have results in a card - the Norwich one off the top of my head, along with Huth.

Some of them are fair enough, but for the most part there are some real shockers in there.
