He apologised the day it was confirmed there wouldn't be an appeal.

Not to Evra he didn't.

Luis Suarez wrote:
“I admitted to the commission that I said a word in Spanish once, and only once, and I told the panel members that I will not use it again on a football pitch in England,”

“I never, ever used this word in a derogatory way and if it offends anyone then I want to apologise for that.”

Evra's included in anyone.

Latics have issued the following statement on the incident involving Tom Adeyemi which happened during Friday's FA Cup with Budweiser, third-round tie at Liverpool.

"The Chairman and Directors of Oldham Athletic Football Club would like to thank Liverpool Football Club and officers of the Merseyside Police for their concerns and painstaking efforts in investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident involving Tom Adeyemi.

"Excellent communication has been maintained and the Club and player have been notified of every detail during the progress of the investigation. The professional standards applied throughout have been praiseworthy.

"The Club would also like to thank the numerous fans from Liverpool and Oldham, and also those from around the country, who have sent letters of support to Tom.

"This type of incident is contained within a minority and should not deflect from a superb match that was enjoyed by both sets of Club officials and fans.

"We wish Liverpool every success in the next round of the Cup."

Class from Oldham. Well in lads.

I expect him to play and get booed, that's normal but when you think about it, why should he, he came out and said what he said, standing up speaking up against racism, then defending Suarez. It is nothing against him really, they should boo the FA not Evra.

Conspicuously, Vociferously, Ferociously, Aggressively and Vehemently. We'll cop more flak for it for being 'racist' (remember, it's only racism if you're black).

Oh I agree, it boggles the mind that he could be so stupid. But every club has idiot fans. Some more so than others.

And just when things looked to be going smoothly for the club we've now got issues with Downing, Suarez, Lucas out for the season...It's another kick in the bollocks and the amount of crap coming from it seems a little excessive. Especially the shit coming from Chelsea fans.

True. And everyone said Andy Carroll was the next big thing, and look how that turned out. You can't judge him on what other players have done, just because they're similar style players.

I'd argue Hooper has a lot more upside and potential than Macca did anyway. Hooper's still only 23, and he's already proven himself at Championship level.

Even in the SPL, you can tell he's got a magnificent eye for goal, and real poacher instincts. Wether good enough for top level EPL, I'm not sure, but I reckon he'd be good enough for mid level for sure.

I dunno how he'd stand up to top flight football. My first thought was "he can't be any worse than Carroll". But taht's not much of a yardstick.

Cheers imno. That really made me feel sick in the stomach.

Liverpool have released a statement apologising to Adeyemi: "Whatever the outcome of what is now a police investigation, all of us are deeply sorry for what happened on Friday night and our players and our club pass on our sincere regrets to Tom Adeyemi for the upset and distress he suffered as a result of the matter at hand."

And we're still being linked with Gary Hooper and Adam Matthews.

 When it rains it pours.

Not going to say anything yet until facts come out, but it's something we really didn't need.

In danger of making light of the situ, but I think somebody will end up saying these so I might as well do it first:

ANDY CARROLL IS TO BLAME! He brought this drinking culture to LFC!!!

Liverpool statement: "Stewart Downing would never hit a woman. His mum is a woman."

It's nice to see him showing some aggression, but I'd much rather he beat his man than a woman.

I think she just got jealous that he finally scored again

LFC claim that slapping a woman is a way of saying 'hello friend' in Middlesbrough.

Ok I'm done.
