i would have thought after the evra incident(s), he was past his last warning. he's an ultra liability that liverpool can't afford to hurt their reputation anymore from imo

Screw pushing him off, Ivanovic had a perfect opportunity to clock him one in the side of the head. Maybe that's what he needs to get over these silly incidents?

I agree benels, I don't think we'll really get rid but it does depend on what the owners want.
And the length of the ban he's about to get

I don't know what's better, that he full just grabs Ivanovic's arm like a freaking burger and gnaws at it...or the fact that he had the tenacity to appeal for a free kick because Ivanovic pushed him away.

This. When you look at it, it's kind of funny, he pretty much chases him to lock his teeth in.

Certainly added some bite to the rivalry....
But I don't see us selling him, you can't really sell a guy you bought whilst he was serving a suspension for biting a player because he bit someone else.

According to RTS-Serbian National Broadcasting forum, Ivanovic will have to get a Tetanus shot and Suarez will avoid punishment if he plays with a muzzle from now on.

The Evra remark, the handshake, they were the main ones, but then his antics on the pitch were bad, in fairness to him, that did improve this season and he was making the right headlines and could have won the player of the year but surely this puts him out of the running. and punching that Chilean defender in the face and the whole handball thing at the World Cup, and against Mansfield (not the same thing but still damaged his reputation)

In Uruguay it's a sign of utmost respect to bite a Serbian while engaged in sporting contest with him, idiots.

Onto the game. Danny Sturridge was a fantastic substitution, exactly what we needed. Good on him for scoring against his old club as well. Agger also did well considering that early injury concern.
A full pre-season, some much needed defenders, and retaining Suarez could put us in a good position for next year. Hopefully we'll finish higher than 7th.

I mean of all the players he could've bitten Ivanovic would be my last choice.

Ian Ayre interview:
Q: Will the events of the last 24 hours have any bearing on Luis's future at Liverpool Football Club?
A: Not at all.

Bullshit. This statement means nothing. He'll be banned for a significant time and we're not paying him to be unavailable for 5-10 games a season. It absolutely has baring on Luis' future at the club. Fortunately Ian Ayre is smart enough to not discuss the future of players at the club and add fuel to the fire.

Loved Gary Neville's comments on it.

He did make a very good point. However, what he later said also was that it could be taken out of the managers and players hands. If the people in charge decide he won't learn and will continue to damage the name of the club, they might have to bite the bullet.

Man United stuck with Eric Cantona despite his indiscretions... How many times can you tell him that though? John Terry is up to 10 with no one calling him to leave. Suarez is a Dick on the field but I like him more than Terry or Cole who are dicks off the field (terry also a Dick on the field)

Chelsea don't have the history and pride Liverpool does. Terry isn't hurting anyone but himself, Suarez is hurting himself and more importantly the club.

Finishing 16th this season would be more damaging to the club than having Suarez, controversy and all.

Suarez is a brilliant but flawed player, in the mold of Cantona, Zidane or Maradona. For their brain farts (and some of them are major) they give plenty of other reasons why any good team would want them.
There are only two intellectually honest debate tactics: (a) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s facts, or (b) pointing out errors or omissions in your opponent’s logic. All other debate tactics are intellectually dishonest - John T. Reed

Difference is those players led their teams to league and European titles and World Cups so any indiscretions were worth it. Suarez hasn't got to that point, imo at least.

John Terry might have done some stupid things, but he is Chelsea, he is our captain, he's part of what we're all about....Liverpool may have had more success but we are Chelsea and that's good enough for us, we have enough pride in ourselves as a club if its all the same to you....as for Suarez sure he did a daft thing and deserves to be punished, but that's on Liverpool. As Joffa points out, these people whose actions are viewed in a negative light are individuals, the club and their subsequent reputation is bigger than any of them.

I agree but the way Liverpool handled the situation in the Evra case, was down to him. The club handled it poorly and it all could have been avoided if it wasn't for Suarez. He put the club in that position.

He put the club in that position. You can say that about so many players it's laughable. At the end of the day the clubs know that they're bigger than the individual and they'll continue to be so long after the player retires.
