Definitely could be. Either:

--------Nando-------
Jova----Cole----Kuyt
---Meireles--Gerrard

Or:

---------Nando-------
Cole------------Kuyt
----Meireles-Gerrard
---------Lucas

Hearing reports that Kenny hasn't gone to the Napoli game, because Roy requested he didn't go. What the?

Probably doesn't like the fact that all the fans keep chanting Kenny's name.

Frank Rijkaard's contract as coach of Galatasaray has been terminated by mutual agreement, the club said today.

The former Uefa Cup champions are ninth in the Turkish championship after eight games, eight points adrift of leaders Bursaspor. They lost 4-2 against mid-table side Ankaragucu on Sunday. The Dutchman was appointed by the Istanbul club in 2009 after leaving Barcelona the previous year.

It is likely Rijkaard's availability will lead to speculation that he could replace Roy Hodgson as Liverpool manager. The 63-year-old Englishman has endured a torrid start to his tenure at Anfield and the club are in the relegation zone after almost a quarter of the season.

The odds on Rijkaard replacing Hodgson tumbled today and the Dutchman was 5/2 favourite with William Hill this morning. Martin O'Neill (10/3), Kenny Dalglish (5/1) and Guus Hiddink (8/1) are next on the list.

He still doesn't have a job.

That, and he has overpaid for many footballers... Dunno, just would much prefer somebody else.

He's overpaid for a lot of footballers, but he's also taken a very mediocre squad to a very strong league position.

Roy Hodgson has been overheard saying: "Looks like Wayne's coming".

Unfortunately nothing else was heard because it started pouring down and they had to run for cover.

hypothetical... Torres for Rooney... it's been mooted and afro has been increasingly keen on the whole thing?

personally i'd be against because i couldn't take it for Rooney to come to Liverpool and still be below average and Torres' form to pick up radically

:-S What? That's got me excited, but it's still kind of hard to believe. For all we know he could have been talking about Wayne Hennessy or Wayne Bridge.

As much as I'd like to see us make a move for Rooney, Torres is not a reasonable price to pay. There would be no reason to sign Rooney unless Torres was at Liverpool.

I'd hate to see Torres leave Liverpool, and him leaving to bring in Rooney would just be bloody stupid. That makes even less sense than a swap for Aguero.

RT @HynesJohn: Purslow has left the role of Managing Director at LFC. He will now be a non exec director and special advisor to the owners.

paul_tomkins RT @TheKopMagazine: Purslow: "I am immensely proud of what we have all achieved. I look forward to assisting the Owners in any way I can."

Purslow: "I came to LFC to lead the Club through a sale process to get the best overall deal including, vitally, the removal of the debt

Tom Werner: "We are delighted Christian has accepted our offer to help us and the Club, given his great experience and love for Liverpool FC

cash the club makes goes to transfers, this time we dont have debt that the cash would normally do so, we can't expect now and the future that the owners are just going to sign checks and leave it at that, the club has to be self sufficient in the future under UEFA

so what exactly does this mean with Purslow?

I wish Paul Tomkins would shut the hell up.

Shame Purslow has moved on, but he's still associated with the club which is positive.

Oh dear Roy. I think he has seriously lost the plot.

Big news overnight, strong talk saying the Napoli game will be his last. Notable players, rumoured to be Torres and Reina, want him gone.

He has also come up with these two corkers overnight:

'If we lose tomorrow night and people say that's because I was sacrificing this game, then I will hold my hands up and say they are right.'

and

"I think I'd have to say we'd cross that bridge when we come to it"

Regarding selling Torres to Manu.

No farking way. You come out and you say HA OVER MY DEAD BODY. Don't even discuss the possibility of selling him there publicly. If they asked SAF if he would sell Rooney to us, or if you asked Spurs if they would sell Bale, or Citeh to sell Tevez, they would tell you to GAGF.

God, Roy seems to have really lost the plot. :( Shame, cause I liked the bloke.

Yeah was reading that about 2 high profile players apparently wanting him gone and a few others who don't want to play under him anymore.

Just amazing how a few months ago Roy was the bloke who was gonna turn it all around.

Hodgson was never suited to the job. He's always done better at a club where he's under less pressure to get high league finishes. He always does best at a club where a mid-table finish is acceptable.
