Good start for the new guys - kolo playing solidly, Aspas getting an asisist and of course Mignolet saving a pen.

Thank god for Mignolet. Shaky start but was excellent from then on.

Delighted with the win. Some beautiful football, Gerrard and Lucas dominated in the centre, Kolo was beast at the back.

Coutinho was the fucking star though. What a man and only 21. Insane.

We had some great play,the angles and holes Countinho delivers with the ball is superb !
Even though stoke hit the cross bar we bombed so many it was frustrating, we certainly were the better team but stoke were always dangerous on the counter.
Great save by Mignolet, was shaky at times but I suppose your 1st game expected, won us over and his team mates I'm sure saving our bacon, great to get the 3 points.

Coutinho was superb. Toure and Aspas made right nuisances of themselves, and though Mignolet looked shakey as fuck in the first half, getting his shit together and nailing that penalty save is the best way possible to endear yourself to the Kop.

And getting an opening day win for the first time since 2008 is also brilliant.

If this Suarez thing does get behind us and he stays a three of Suarez - Coutinho - Aspas behind the Sturridge is looking very dangerous. Just need Coutinho and Aspas to get their shooting boots on

I don't want to put a downer on the parade and yes we played some really good football, we did last season as well and lost stupid points just as last night if it wasn't for the pen save, how many missed chances was frustrating (just as last year) and the dreaded cross bar curse is still there 8-[
In saying that we have more players capable of having a great shot on target, IF Suarez pulls his head in we definately are going to scare many more sides this season :p

Yeah, having that lethal finish could still be an issue. We had a few chances last night which we really should have done better with but I thin everyone's just stoked to have kicked off the season with a win for a change.

The real test will be how we handle Villa away next week after what they did to Arsenal.

Going to be good to watch how our backline handle Benteke and the likes at Villa Park and it will tells us more what ticker we have there, Toure certainly is a great pick up and will starch it up, he played a strong 1st game the other night hope he keeps that up.

I saw a pic of him getting treatment on his knee in the middle of a training session this week.
