Strikes me that Roman is trying to assemble Roy Hodgson's old squad...

Managed to shift Cole, Poulsen, Degen and Ngog. Woot.
Busby - the old management promised Raul a new contract, with a significant boost in wages. New board didn't wanna do it. Raul was obviously pissed.
Hope he doesn't say shit about the club over next few days

Was a decent fee from memory to sign for Liverpool and to only get one season and a great season at that out of him seems pretty silly. He requested it. It's fairly clear he's not going to get the same kinds of opportunities anymore. The fact that he gets them at Chelsea only serves to show how poor Chelsea's investment tactics have been, and how much they really wanted Modric and needed a replacement. Besides, we got our money back, which is what matters. Me, I'd rate Raul over Luka, but I'm biased.

Finally shifted Degen, that's brilliant and Meireles has been confirmed.

Gerrard, Adam, Downing, Henderson, Kuyt, Lucas, Maxi and Spearing...
...there's nothing amusing for the yoof in that righteous list. We could have four midfielders out and still field a decent team.

Yeah well and truly, which is good for their development. Definitely think Chelski have tapped up Meireles.

All the yound midfielders will be laughing now. Before at the start of the window we had so many experianced midfielders to keep happy which meant they wouldn't get a run but now they are back in the mix.

Chelsea bid 12m quid cash. That'll do nicely.

Benanyoun has gone to Arsenal, people are saying this is because Chelsea have got Meireles. \
Did Meireles hand in a tansfer request?

Yeah looks like it. He will know his surroundings at least, won't need much to settle in.

I would say Bellamy has just come to cover while your academy boys develop so they can come strait in when Bellamys done

Raul handed in a transfer request...
...still though. 8m and Sturridge to Chelsea is well off the mark, especially because we have Bellamy and the American kid now.

Bellamy? Well, he's a cheaper third striker, he's better quality than Ngog, he won't be leaving to try and get first team football elsewhere because he's older, he's proper hard, which is what Kenny obviously wants in his squad, and he's free. He also has as many assists as he has goals, because he's not just an out-and-out striker. This thing that looks remarkably like 4-2-4, with a whole bunch of attacking players running all over the place - that's what a creative player like Bellamy thrives on.
That also means Ngog can go to Bolton where he'll get what he wants.

I still can't get over this...our summer recruiting has been Henderson, Downing, Doni, Enrique, Coates, Adam...and Bellamy. It just doesn't make sense.

Quote:Liverpool have completed the signing of United States Under-18 striker Villyan Bijev from California Odyssey after the youngster impressed on trial at the academy during the summer. Bijev does not yet have a work permit so has gone on loan to German side Fortuna Dusseldorf with immediate effect. Looks like our boy Robbie has some extra competition now too

Quote:Has Ngog already gone to Bolton? On skysports they're talking about Sturridge coming in... possibly a swap for Meireles? Losing both Meireles AND Aquilani would be a mistake. Gerrard, Adam, Lucas, Meireles and Henderson is a healthy midfield with the kind of depth you'd expect.

Quote:Steve Clarke has revealed Liverpool expect to have Martin Kelly back in action sooner rather than later.
The defender was substituted after half an hour of the Reds' 3-1 win over Bolton Wanderers at the weekend due to a tight hamstring.
However, Clarke has confirmed the problem isn't a serious one.
The first-team coach told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Martin Kelly came off because he felt a little tightness in his hamstring.
"It was obviously disappointing for the player and disappointing for ourselves, but it's looking like a low-grade injury and so he should be back fairly quickly."
Good to hear :)

Carroll, Suarez, Sturridge and Bellamy. A decent looking strike force there, and I would imagine that King Kenny can handle Bellamy's healthy dose of crazy.
