Did the Liverpool players watch the A-League grand final and applied the "how to lose a championship with 10 minutes left" theory. lol

Its the right thing to do.

In all seriousness Liverpool have been fantastic this season. Add some new defenders and maybe an extra midfielder and you'll be challenging again next season.

Shaker correct, its been a top season regardless, brought us back into the 4 CL back to Anfield. Players have stepped up the plate better than expected, attacking play has been awesum to watch - defense well  has cost us the unexpected of gaining the title ? Who knows what 2 more games yet to play may bring as long as we win our last importantly. BR has done a massive job in 2yrs. Edited by M.L.: 7/5/2014 03:00:57 PM

Skrtel's scored some great goals for us this season but his mistakes have killed us. Sloppy defending from all involved. Big defensive overhaul in the off season is needed. It's shattering to see that capitulation against Palace. Not really surprising though. Been waiting for weeks for it to happen.

If there's one positive to take from that game is that we went out trying to win the league on GD as opposed to hope city fucked up. But that just about the only positive. If we had been more clinical in the first half we wouldn't be in this situation.

We're second in the league but we've conceded the equal 8th most goals. We've conceded more goals than Palace and Everton! Shit, we've conceded as many goals as West Ham. That's horrifying.

I was more referring to you saying "Been waiting for weeks for it to happen" when if we didn't need more goals it wouldn't have happened and before that we were on an 11 game win streak.

Regardless on being so so close to the unexpected we can't be too let down, sure its tuff but if you were given the odds that we'd finish 2nd start of the season you'd take it with both hands ! The hardships can only help to serve good lessons to the lads mentally for next seasons challenge. Were back ! no doubt about it, I'll be very interested what possible new defensive players BR has at his disposal for consideration over the break. I can't be dirty on Skrtl even though he has scored some rippers at both ends ;) Johnson piss's me off many times and Sakho just isn't up to what we really need to handle it week in week out, take your hat off to young Flanno, the least experienced yet one who had a stella sound season.

Liverpool may have lost out in the title race but they are top of the table when it comes to earnings over the 2013-14 season. Brendan Rodgers' side finished two points behind Manchester City, who lifted the Premier League trophy, but their projected earnings are £1m more. And the value of TV revenue and being in the top flight can be seen by bottom club Cardiff, who received just £1.2m as a merit payment, picking up £64m when television and Premier League share is factored in.

It's amazing how many tops of tables people can cling onto that don't count.
We won the away league I think8-[

 I'm not trying to 'cling' on to anything. Just pointing out a financial gain from this season.
Only one table matters. These things are just nice for us to see.

Pretty disappointing to see the season end like that. Another classic Liverpool choke. But it's well above our pre-season expectations so we can't be too disappointed.
The important thing is recruiting strongly, overhauling the entire defence and bouncing back next season.

Strong statement of faith from the board. Now we just have to fix that defence.

Well that was a given in regards to BR staying with us - he quickly became ingrained with our culture followed by the results easy job for the board. Afro this is it "defense" - I'm sure all of us are expecting some serious buys over the summer just wish some news would start filtering through on possibilities.

If Lambert is coming in it's probably to replace Aspas. We've been linked with Lallana, Clyne and Lovren as well.

Wow! Didn't expect to wake up to that news about Lambert.
Gotta say though, I've always been an admirer of him, he's a superb player, people labelling a 'target man' are being very lazy - he's technically very astute and has great movement in the front third. He loves this club too, probably isn't on big money at Soton and wont ask for much more. For only 4m initially it's low risk, low outlay and he would be a fantastic player to bring on or have as an alternative to Suarez/Sturridge.
Very happy with this if it comes off!

Well thats what we need more depth. Aspas is a waste surely he'll be offloaded, Lambert would be farfar more effective.
