Liverpool are like the student who doesn't bother to begin studying until 2 nights before their final exam in the hope that a last minute cram will gain them top marks. Two seasons in a row they have paid the price for a slow start and a run that doesn't begin until Christmas. For fucks' sake, does it occur to anybody at the club that if more of an effort was made to gel and get wins on the board before December, that April wouldn't come around with every weekend being sudden death? It pisses me off so fucking much, honestly. It's all well and good to bitch about players out and the rest of it, but where in the fuck do people get the idea that leaving it until late is going to result in anything apart from sweating on other results? Blame Stevie G, blame Balotelli, blame whoever you want but nothing changes when the club leaves this last minute approach to their season goals. What is the fucking point in staying up until the early hours, week after week, when its' only going to end in an inevitable loss that has the haters circling like vultures and feeling like an idiot for hoping for that a slim chance would come to fruition? As if the media circus that swells when we have even a sniff of being title contenders isn't enough of a prick-tease, it's this bullshit leaving-it-till-the-last-minute approach that's enough to make me wonder why I should even bother losing sleep for anything bar the games against the traditional foes and the London/ Manchester renditions of el plastico? Enjoyed Ozil and Welbeck ruining Can's career today.
Should be looking to ship Moreno back off to Spain asap.

Another tough weekend, didn't expect a win but also didn't expect t get mauled. So many things went wrong that there is no point really talking about them, but in any event a few thoughts:
- Hendo shouldn't have been playing on the right, he is wasted there; - It was too early to bring back Lucas, hadn't played a minute in 2 months apart from the Stevie G testimonial; - Toure was horrid; - Moreno was worse.
So we're 8 points off the pace and top 4 is looking "still mathematically possible". Utd have a very tough run home but doubt they will drop enough points to drop out (although we can live in hope - come on City, Chelsea and Everton!).
So, assuming everything goes well is 5th place and an FA Cup Final a good season?

Well, the promising run from Dec had a fair bit of luck, some not so convincing games and get out of jail scenarios that have camouflaged our lacking in quality/depth backed up recently by injuries/bookings. If it was one game to turn up was the united game, old news didn't happen and compounded now by the emirates loss that no one expected the win but to turn up and fight but didn't happen....... Losing Skrtel was always going to hurt. Kolo is so past it its not funny - admire his fight but its over. Lovren been an absolute disappointment but could he have done better given the chance ?. Moreno is out of his depth - 2 big games I recall he's been like a rabbit in front of head lights. (why wasn't Johnson given a chance) also can't wait for Flanno back on the park sooner or later. Sakho, I'll give him a break for he has played some sound games. Mignolet - his game is a roller coaster, his positional stance for the Ozil kick was ? Hence our biggest issues to resolve for the future. Can't rely on others above results - but no team is going to bank 100% points. citeh have a mixed bag of fixtures left that in their current state anything can happen. united as mentioned have quite a few bigger games ahead. Ourselves have enough hurdles as well - its a lottery at present  From finishing 2nd to possibly 5th considering the challenges we've had finishing 5th ? my heart hurts but the head says could be worse ! A Cup Final would be a good panadol I suppose but a loss would then need endones !

Sakho and Skrtel both being out for next game makes me think he'll play 4 at the back. Lovren Kolo Can just isn't quite good enough
I don't think Can will work in a back four though so you end up with Kolo and Lovren and that aint good either
Good to get the win in any case.

Surely we can't go with Kolo again? Maybe the back four with Lovren and Can.

Well, result was all that mattered. The Count is brilliant though, played the typical attacking light we need so much. Raheem so hot so cold, his goal was superb shifting from the left creating the angle and curling it inside the far post - class strike. 2nd half he's got a sitter right in front and push's it outside left of the post #-o long before Allens 1st Anfield goal ! Good luck to Joe, he has worked hard to be in the line up but he's also BR's love child imo :) Lovren was sound - he's improved of late. Having Johnson back at RB provides some continuity. Can back was solid. Moreno - I don't rate him but did enough. Hendo - never lets you down solid game. Lucas - solid but nothing OTT - lucky not to gain a broken leg from Sissoko's stupid studs up planted on the shin that on replay looked woeful ! deserved red after a yellow not long before. Overall we just couldn't put the game away far earlier for we created enough chances should have been 4zip at least. The win though creates the good ambiance going into the Cup semi ! Sturridge possibly back for the weekend. Sakho will still be out for 2-3wks. Edited by M.L.: 14/4/2015 10:56:29 AM

All Sydney Reds please be aware that Celtic are playing in the Scottish Cup Final at 9:15pm tonight against Inverness CT. Cheers WILL be busy, if you want to kick your night off early why not join the fun at Cheers from 8pm. Anyone who is unable to get into Cheers be advised that the game will also (always) be shown at Three Wise Monkeys two doors up. If you are unable to get in before 11pm, I would suggest coming back after the Celtic game has finished.
For our regional NSW supporters:
Newcastle Reds - the match tonight will be shown at Wests Leagues Club, New Lambton due to SJ's sunday trading hours. Please see facebook.com/groups/lfcnswnorth
Illawarra Reds - the match tonight will be shown at Steelers Club ACT Reds - the match tonight will be shown at Civic Pub Please see facebook.com/groups/lfcnswsouth

I'm prepared to give him until the next transfer window, and this Christmas before I ultimately give him the thumbs up or thumbs down. But for Rodgers to change tactics and formation so many times in the one game, denotes a lack of confidence in the game plan. If Rafa were still in charge, you'd have put good money on Liverpool advancing- and finding it within themselves to beat Arsenal in the final. I'm growing concerned about BR's ability to manage the team in high stakes games...

Yeah I agree. I'm certainly not on the BR out side, but I think his management in big games like this leaves a lot to be desired.

I think he'll get another season. Transfers need to be looked at. Whether is is BR or the so called 'transfer committee' that is targeting players, they need to suit the system / way he is trying to play. Destined to fail otherwise.
