Hope it means Johnson is off and Flanagan can be promoted to first choice RB Exactly he should have taken a wage cut and gone to Napoli. He obviously cares more about money than playing football.

Thank god for that.
Great servant, loved him in his peak but had to get his wages off the books.
Lets wait until confirmation though, don't want another Borini

Agree - where there's smoke there's fire, even though watching Fox the other day there was Arry questioning the knock back and looking baffled, he wanted the $$$$$ Mentioning Carrol - isn't it ironic that he's out again for months  thank f uck we offloaded him a season back ending up a hammer

Remy has failed physicals for a whole bunch of teams. QPR were heavily criticized for going on to sign him after he failed physicals for Lazio and Lyon.
I think it's a good thing that Liverpool have pulled out of this one after their history of signing players with pre-existing injury issues like Carroll and Aquilani.

As far as I knew he wasn't currently injured which means it would have to be some pre existing condition that really worried Liverpool. Could be the possible heart defect that they found while he was at Marseille. Still ended up going to Marseille and then on to QPR and NUFC despite the heart issue. Bit weird. Yeah, but as jlm said could be that Liverpool didn't want to take the risk. That is of course if it was the heart stuff that's caused the breakdown. Interesting to see where it ends up, had apparently put aside the number 7 shirt for him.

He's failed 3-4 medicals because of the heart issue, it might not ever actually effect him but clubs don't want to take that risk.

How much that will prevent the deal going through, particularly if Liverpool offer irresistible wages, I don't know. :(

As if Remy wont speak up if we agree fee, agree personal terms and then just decide, naaaah. Borini not wanting to go was before Remy even flew out to meet us in Boston. Why would we have let it get that far if it was the issue.

Cheers.
Lovren signing confirmed which is good.
However problems with Remy's medical means the deal is off.
Wonder who we'll go for now.

I can't see him leaving Dortmund unless Real or Barca come knocking tbh. As stated, it would be something special if they pulled it off. The rumours of his impending arrival were gathering momentum last weekend but it's died off this week.

I'm not sure how I feel about Borini. He's a top bloke by all accounts but I'm not sure he's any benefit to the club. He hasn't performed for us and while he did ok for Sunderland he's not our level of player. I'd rather have Remy - well, Ideally I'd rather have neither and we were aiming higher but I don't think that's an option right now.

We really need to wrap up this Lovren deal though.
