musialik would be a decent player for sydney, but i agree with a previous post that we need to get another defender
popovic is just to slow and if milligan then we got a big hole to plug.

IIRC Popa didn't actually sign for all that much money. It was around the 150k mark I think (if not less).

Quote:they'd have to be very fortunate with injuries and suspensions. With Talay, Zadkovich and Rudan gone we should be okay. Just need to keep McFlynn and Fyfe on a leash. And in terms of injuries, just need to make sure Timpano doesnt break his toe nail and Corica's walking frame is close-by postmatch. Nevertheless, as Ive mentioned before in another thread; I wonder if Kosmina will drop Biddle and Tsatallios to the youth team... since unlike their counterparts in Newcastle and Roar, they havent featured much throughout the season past. And if Musialik were to sign, there goes a midfield spot, and a spot in the senior squad for Biddle... (Midfielders would be Corica, Colosimo, Musialik, McFlynn, Middleby, Enfield, Casey)... and if Juninho were to re-sign, Biddle would have to wait till Sydney incur some heavy casualties/fatalities.

Let Con do what he wants, it's his club..if he seriously believes the lifestyle in Newcastle will keep the players the youth team will have to play twice, the only crowd noise will be from the crickets and GVE will be snatched up by a Eourpen club. Go Con.

i think this is true. musialik definately has rejected jets and now its out of sydney/melbourne. earlier in the year musialik rejected victory because he hates roddy vargas.
the jets need so many positions now, let's hope con can help out dutchy as much as he can financially.

I just think Newcastle fans are going overboard. We lost Carney, Yorke and Pierre within one season. That was basically our team, they were crowd favourites. There will now be funds for Newcastle to buy the like of Elrich and others. I think Newcastle will have a better squad next year...

Nico wrote:You can hardly blame him for buying Jardel, who was a European golden boot winner Yeah about ten years ago!!!! That would be like signing Pele noe cause he was a good player a few years back. Jardel hadn't played for a long time before Newcastle signed him. I just think It's sad to see Newcastle fall apart like this siply because Con refuses to touch the $450,000 in service agreements. Sydney use nearly every cent of it.

You cant expect him to make 100% good calls. What about Joel, was he a bad choice? Or would you like to still have Theo still in charge and have GVE assitant? You can hardly blame him for buying Jardel, who was a European golden boot winner, it isn't entirely his fault that Jardel couldn't fit in(which i think is the major reason we never saw anything from him, not because he lacked fitness).

Exactly. From Zrdilic, Rudan and Talay alone there will be close to 900k available (if the huge salaries of 300k each are to be believed).
Also SFC have publicly stated that they are going for quality over quantity, meaning they will probably only have 20 players in the senior squad. Juninho probably COULD fit under the cap if they really tried.

Aloisi is outside of the cap - nothing to do with it. I assume we have lost/dropped Talay, Zdrillic and Renaud, as well as losing Rudan mid-season. At the moment it also looks like Juninho is gone. Thats leaves A LOT of cash to spend on the players we have bought over the last 2-3 weeks.

Colosimo, Popovic, Milligan (at least at the moment) and we still have Fyfe, Tsallios and Timpano dont we? Its not like Musialik can't play as a defender. Im pretty impressed with our backline, its our midfield i'd like to see one or two more signings.

Interesting. Would be a good signing but I would prefer money spent on the sydney defence. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Musialik to Sydney [RUMOUR]? Have your say.
