What grinds your gears? What's something that really annoys you? Tell us so that we can whinge in agreeance, or bask in the embarrassment that is your pet hate.
Im sick of people whinging about speed cameras being 'revenue raisers'. Stick to the bloody limit and you won't get booked.
Okay, there are the rare instances where the legitimacy of said cameras my be questioned. Yet every week I read articles or hear on the radio people (and reporters/commentators) whinging about cameras. Funny how noone complains about red light cameras, I guess we all understand that the 'red' light means stop - should we colour-code speed signs?:-k
There is one very effective and advantageous solution to the supposed 'revenue raising' conspiracy - slow the f*** down. Though I am disappointed that the revenue raised isnt invested in more speed cameras - maybe im just biased and have a grudge against those who have faster cars than me :P

You know what really grinds my gears...
The six month wait for A-league to kick-off again.
Tom Hicks and George Gilette.
When players in my fantasy team dont play matches even though they are perfectly fit.
PSP design, playing a game, you realise the screen has gone off because you accidently switched off the power button, you also realise you havent put your PSP into sleep mode, youve turned it off completely, and the last nail in the coffin is when you switch it back on to realise it didnt fucking autosave.

You know there is a lock function on the power button right?
How the hell do you accidentally hold that slide power button in the off position for a few seconds?

LOL.
The hold button doesnt do shit, means you cant press buttons while youre playing, which is alright on amutuer mode but not on world class.
How i manage to do it- the power switch, which is also the hold and the sleep switch, on the psp slim is on the side right under your hand, sometimes you just try to move your hand and it only takes 3 seconds to switch it off completely. Its really does grind my gears. Im not sure where the power button is on PSP fat, do you have one?

I don't know how you hold your PSP, but my hands never even come close to rubbing the power button slidy thing (and I have a fat PSP and its on the bottom right side)

Ah yeah, thats what the Hold button does. Meh, I never use it.
I have a PSP slim, and I never come close to sliding the power switch unintentionally. Maybe you should grip the PSP so hard :P

You now how the slim has nothing to hold onto. When i first got it my hands used to ache but now im deformed perfectly. It happens a fair bit and is frustrating. It doesnt happen on fattys becasue the switch is at the top thats what i thought. I put my hands flat on the side of the PSP cause i dont wanna drop it, you must hold your PSP more relaxed.

I think if i wrote down everything that "grinds my gears", i would crash the 442 server. But i will write them down everytime i think of a new one. Should start with an easy one in relation to marty's......
Indecisive drivers: When i make room for you to merge, MERGE!!!!! Dont fuck about hitting the accelerator and brake, just go. When you pull out from a side street or car park and im doing the speed limit, hit the bloody gas dammit. Dont come out and dordle up the road. The only excuse is if your in a shitty old car, which is only about 15% of the time. I spend enough time on the roads to know what your going to do before you do, so just do it. AAARRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!!
I feel a little better now

Oh yeah, people that pull out of side streets or driveways in front of you when there is NO ONE behind YOU!!!! and then proceed to plod along are the cause of road rage. If cars were expendable I would be near the top of the killboard.

people correcting your spelling mistakes, its a fucking forum not an essay or a resume, they think theyre so fucking smart yet they dont tell you to start sentences and names with caps. more than half the people that do it are hipocrits cause they do it themselves.

When anyone blurts out those now cliched words "We almost beat Italy, so we could have won the world cup!" One shot on goal, at the best goalie in the world does not constitute almost beating a team. We may have outplayed them attacking wise for the best part of the game, but not defensively. Get your facts right dickhead and dont make wild comments you read in the courier mail/sydney morning herald/the age or any other bullshit media outlet

People that can't spell and do not know the difference between their/there/they're and your/you're etc (this is not exactly a shot at you mk, its just something that annoys me in general).
You know back in the day, it was only those of us that actually read books that were willingly exposed to spelling and grammar. But in this day and age everyone is on the Net and really should have no excuse. Instead we get these 1337 H4X0R5!!!!! teenagers that think its a damn sms.
I'm one of those people that feel if you cannot construct a proper sentence (especially since you are typing it and have time to proofread it before posting), then why the hell should I take your opinion seriously?
I guess I'm old school.

Non-footballers thinking that the offside rule is always the biggest talking point in our game, therefore kicking-off all conversations with; "So what about that dogged offside rule." Grinds my gears it does.

You've probably still got dial up erebus.
I can spell better than the average bear but i really dont think a forum is about spelling and grammar, espescially a football one.
I also hate that i use about 6 commas per sentence cause i cbf starting new sentences.
I hate it when you think you can get in a quick reply to the previous post but when you post yours someone beats you to it and now yours doesnt make sense to anyone but yourself.
I hate the people who think they never make mistakes on here then you alert them so they edit their previous post.

Erebus wrote:I guess I'm old school. No, you're just not lazy. I know several people at uni will type out essays only to get halfway down the first page and realise they've typed in shorthand, as if they're using SMS or MSN. Quite entertaining watching their reaction to you watching their reaction to their realisation of their own incompetence. :P Quote:i really dont think a forum is about spelling and grammar, espescially a football one. The reason I correct people is not only for my enjoyment and the discrete patronisation of other forumites, but because often the grammar is incorrect, and when grammar is incorrect - implications can be skewed; as they often are. And especially on a medium such as a forum, IMO you need to clearly convey your point or message, otherwise things can get messy. As has been the case with several of your 'more serious' postings mk. Random SFC fan in this month's mag wrote:I'm one of those people that feel if you cannot construct a proper sentence (especially since you are typing it and have time to proofread it before posting), then why the hell should I take your opinion seriously? You only have to keep left on roads with a speed limit 80 or higher - but I feel your pain. As I frequently use the F3, it shits me when people decide to overtake another vehicle whilst still in cruise control - overtaking at a relative speed of ~3km/h, which just clogs up the overtaking lane. How hard is it to just accelerate, overatke, then reduce your speed again...

If your telling people about things on FFT should the people in question not create a new forum in Feedback?
Anyway, what grinds my gears?
When you go to backspace something and you hit the dash key. When people say soccer, not football. Liverpool supporters. People who think the EPL is the best league in the world because four English teams were in the UEFA Champions League. If they have another reason, fine. Rangers supporters. And finally when people do not pick up their (look Erebus I can do it!) dog's 8-[ business.

When youre typing and the cursor skips back to some random point in the sentence.
When you accidently write in caps then realise you have to right it all again because their is no undo caps option.
When people say "thats pretty random" or finish off sentences with "but"

When you click to type something in a query field (like google) and start typing, then the PC decides it'll de-select the field, then you re-select the field and start tying and it does it again
