They are at the moment but as I said, one good season will turn things around (given it comes before it's too late).

Whats in Perth, honestly.

One of the most succesful association football clubs in Australia (despite their recent form), but what would a post WC bandwagoner like you know

theres no football future there

One good season and they'll be a force... no shit. The crowds will come back and I'll bet that one of those cashed up WA mining companies will jump on too.

mk0825 wrote:
perth have 400k to spend

Perth have just released half their squad, they'd have some decent money to spend.

I doubt he'll go melbourne
he'd want a marquee
plus melbourne have limited room under their cap.
i hope he goes to perth.

If he could fit under the cap, wouldn't he want to work with Farina again?

yeh i agree that he's underated. would be good to see him do well in the A-League and i'd also like to see him go to the victory. the victory have still set the standard from the premiership winning year in my opinion. they were a team everyone aspired to become. i think sydney were good in their first acl under culina as well. i'd like to see melbourne return to the standard they were at. hopefully in the upcoming acl.. good luck to them

yeh it'd be good to see josip return. not much is happening at wigan for him anymore and i think he'd still be a good player back home. and the more internationally capped aussies returning with a few years left in them the better..

How doesn't Josip Skoko deserve a marquee spot? This is the man with 51 senior international appearances (that's 12 more than Craig Moore), and has captained Australia. If you've seen the kind of goals he's scored over his career, he seems like the most underated Socceroo of recent times.

If a washed up, over weight Brazilian can draw crowds then why not Skoko?

I don't see how Skoko deserves a marquee spot. He is not going to draw the crowds thats for sure.

It depends if he expects marquee money or normal player money. If its marquee (which I'm not so sure about), he could end up at CCM, Perth, the Jets or Wellington who don't have marquees. However I do not see Perth or Wellington risking another marquue spot on a possibly passed-it ex-Socceroo and I cannot see CCM or the Jets signing him as a marquee. He could go to one of the new clubs but with Gold Coast looking the only likely club to come into existence next season and by the rumours about their signings, I do not think Skoko would be 'flashy' enough to be their marquee.

If he doesn't aim for marquee money, he could end up anywhere. If that was the case, I think Jets would be likely as they got some salary cap room with some of their players leaving and do need a good defensive midfielder.

Skoko would be a prime candidate for a 2nd (possibly geelong) melb team. Odds would increase dramatically if steve horvats franchise was to get the nod.

Perth, Newcastle and the Mariners, with vacant marquee spots, are the only ones who could sign him. Perth and Central Coast have Socceroo connections with Dave Mitchell and Alex Tobin. The Central Coast lifestyle has brought in two stars already (Tony Vidmar and John Aloisi. Whats to say it can't do it again?
