Sydney Olympic FC have been given the nod by FNSW to enter the NSW Super League for Women in the 2011 season.

The club has 5 new state league sides

Under 12's
Under 14's
Under 16's
Reserve Squad
FIRST GRADE

Expect an announcement of a big First Grade Coach and now let SOFC produce some Matilda's as well.

Great to see another good club embrassing the entire Football package. Smart clubs should and are recognising what adding Womens teams into major competitions can do for them.

We should of had it for years before.

I can not think of 1 negative aspect of having a womens branch within the Club.

There are no negatives but a bit of extra work from the Admin side. In the Womens Premier League in Newcastle, Edgeworth Womens team won the comp this year and then the club ditched them. Figure that one out

Good on the Greek community for organising an all-Greek women's side. About time Greek girls had the same opportunities as the rest of the community.

Well done on SOFC, a very worthy endevour.

Please note this post in no way condones PAOKTZI and his bizzare agenda.

Sydney Olympic FC to field Women's Super League Teams

posted by on September 30, 2010

It is with great pleasure and honour that Football NSW has approved Sydney Olympic FC to participate in the Women’s Super League for the 2011 season.

This historic event for Sydney Olympic FC underpins the Club’s Football development with extensive appeal in the local and broader community.

The extensive work Sydney Olympic FC has contributed in securing this participation demonstrates the Club’s energy and support for the growth of Football in Australia: 1) as a member participant in Football NSW competitions and 2) as a stakeholder in Football development supporting the Football Federation of Australia.

The teams will encompass U12’s, U14’s, U’16’s, Reserve grade and First grade.

Please refer back to our website in the coming days for trial dates.
