Apparently the wicket at the WACA is looking nothing short of a bowling green. Photo in the Telegraph a day ago, the pitch was greener then the outfield!

South Africa win the 3rd test by 10 wickets after not even facing 1 legitimate ball in their 2nd innings  one of crickets flaws. instead of doing the obvious, they have to go through the process. why the batsman padded up is beyond me, why bother with the field or anything.

Quote:India cricket officials fume after a group sink beers on uncovered WACA Ground pitch hours before Test

India cricket officials are shocked that a group of people were drinking beer in an after-dark session on an uncovered WACA Ground pitch less than 24 hours before the tourists try to save the series against Australia.
The late-night antics have left India unimpressed and demanding action.

Perth Test: ball-by-ball coverage, live scores
Around 10 people, believed to be employees of the ground, traditionally have a party under the scoreboard the night before the Test.
On Thursday night they advanced onto the ground and proceded to take the covers off the wicket.
Some sat on the pitch and drank beer for about seven minutes before the covers were replaced.
The incident was filmed by several Indian television stations who were at the WACA Ground completing their Test previews.

The footage was shown to India captain MS Dhoni and team management.
WACA officials were forced to investigate the issue, which involves their own employees.
Senior BCCI official Rajiv Shukla said Cricket Australia must look into the incident.
"It is a serious matter and the Australian cricket board should look into it. It is the responsibility of the host cricket board to maintain the wicket," Shukla said.
Asked if they had talked to Cricket Australia about it, he said: "It's up to the team management to look into it."

Did someone stand at the gate and ask any Indian punter if they wanted to sing the anthem?? Then just wacked a suit on him, and let him lose??

To be fair, this pitch is a bowler's paradise. Speed, Seam and Swing - the ball is doing some crazy things.

India to come out tomorrow and blame the WACA officials. Too muc (or perhaps not enough!) beer spilled on the pitch. Australia to have a batting collapse and be all out for 92.

This is ridiculous.
Very good chance of a lead at stumps. Just ridiculous.

Wow  Shame this match and series is turning into a very one-sided contest but innings like this are always enjoyable to watch.
