New Shikari isn't bad at all. Te more I listen to it, the more I like it. It does get a tad annoying with the whole political message thing. I really respect them for it, as there's not many bands like that, but I agree with Afro and Funky. Its pretty heavy. Favorite songs are probably Meltdown and Arguing with Thermometres.

CC's new wonderful song
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Heard this at work over the weekend. Really catchy laid back song, quite like it. Haven't heard it since way back in Year 7.

Mark Hoppus is quoted in this month's Kerrang! stating that he and DeLonge are working on new blink material.

Managed to get four of my picks in there (Bon Iver-Perth, San Cisco-Awkward, M83-Midnight City, Matt Corby-Brother). Gutted Gotye won but it was inevitable I suppose, not the best count down but definitely not the worst.

Only one I voted for was Rope by Foo Fighters. But I did have Arlandria by Foo Fighters, Feels so Close by Calvin Harris, Calgary and Perth by Bon Iver and Lotus Flower by Radiohead on my shortlist.

Great songs in there. Not enough Kasabian, their new album is amazing

10, 11, 19, 21, 24, 30, 34, 47, 63, 65, 90 and 87...12 songs. I think that's actually WORSE than last year despite working in a nightclub now. That's depressive.

Yeah one of the student pubs I frequent always blasts this at the end and turns lights on but it goes mental, if I'm ever considering leaving early I usually just push on purely for the moment they play this.

In regards to JJJ Hottest 100, I counted 11 that i actually like and or own the rest were meh stuff I either don't know or wouldn't listen to as I'm not much for rap and techno/dance.
Just a question though, did the whole Wombats album make it in or just 2/3's of it. between them, Gotye (the over rated) and Foster the people they sticked up almost a fifth of the countdown.

I think there were four Wombats songs which surprised me tbh, I am a big Wombats fan and went to see them last year but I thought their latest album was pretty average, I didn't vote for any of their songs.

I like them a fair bit, only voted for one in Techno Fan. Gotye is horribly overrated

Only songs I like on that list from Triple J are 5, 11, 21, 30, 61, 63, 66, 69, 90 and 97. Only one I voted in was Rope (63). Not surprising given only a couple of mine were on the Triple J shortlist.

I can't think who they sound like, but you should definitely check out the album "The Betrayed". For mine, one of the best albums of 2010.
There's definite post-punk aspects as well as an alternative rock sound, you can hear infulences from bands like Rise Against and NIN in their music. Luke Johnson's an epic drummer.
