Second commentator should only do the scoreboard and news flashes and half time stats etc. I think it's something we should try for big games like derbies and finals coming up... it'd be good to have a few guys used to just dealing with that statistical stuff.
Would love the survey results.

4. Do you feel the 442 commentators interact with the audience enough? If No, How can we interact with our audience better? Quote: 1. From my brief experience, the commentary wasn't updated for 5 minutes, during which I saw on television a yellow card and a few awkward challenges on television.. I didn't think this was very satisfactory for a "minute by minute" updating service 2. When they warrant it - some d***heads on here though 3. that's not the purpose 4. I see that few of the user comments actually appear on screen. Perhaps there can be two panes - one for commentators, and one for users. 5. I'd like to see faster and more frequent updates. More description of play. 6. let more comments through 7. Bring in more well known footballing experts 8. Questions asked are always answered.General comments are often acknowledged in a friendly and appropriate way.

5. Are you watching the game on TV while following our coverage? If not, why do you watch the coverage online? Quote: 1. sometimes 2. At home we have Sky, in our flat at uni we don't. Hence the use of commentary without TV while at uni 3. I try to watch the commentary online. Work has taken to blocking flash-based interactive tools like CoverIT so I can no longer follow it. I now have to use the crappy A-League stats page or follow the matchday thread on 442. 4. Because it's cheaper than Fox. 5. I sometimes watch internet streams of the matches, but as I don't have fox, most of the time I watch the text commentary to update not just the score, but what has happened in the match. 6. Most of the time but not always. 7. No foxtel 8. If I don't have access to Foxtel and can't find a decent online stream 9. perfer this 10. No pay TV at home, so either go to the pub to watch or read online. 11. Coz its free, and i dont want all the crap that comes with foxtel and there's good quality streams 12. I can't afford pay TV 13. No Foxtel and local club had to close at 4pm. 14. Because I can not access to Foxtel Tv 15. The only stream i could find was in japanese, so for the more in depth analysis. my japanese isn't great 16. do not have foxtel 17. Because my dad is against foxtel 18. No access to Foxtel 19. I don't have pay tv. 20. CCTV-5! Red China baby 21. I do not have Fox Sports and I want to find out about the game minute by minute and its the only site that I know that does so. 22. no access to foxtel 23. i dont watch because i dont have a tv 24. Because I don't have Fox Sports, I don't want to waste my data limit on live streams, and this is the best live Australian soccer text commentary on the Internet. 25. because it is nice to watch rather than leaving the computer when i am playing games. 26. Because its not on TV here 27. Don't have Foxtel access 28. i dont have foxtel 29. No 30. No FTA coverage 31. dont have foxtel, 32. Don't have fox (have been streaming asian cup games fwiw). It's just something to check in on regularly while i'm working, 33. I do not have Austar 34. Use the coverage in phone when unable to make it home to watch 35. Sometimes. (watching on internet as I dont have foxtel) Even when I watch matches I still like to have the commentary on as I prefer what they have to say to the fox experts.

6. Do you use the commentary to keep up to date with the matches or to talk about the match with fellow fans?If neither, Why do you use the commentary? Quote: 1. to see who won the games 2. like to see the opinions of others and from the media commentators eg. craig foster twitter posts appear in the commentary and the rest of the opinions and comments 3. pre-match discussion

7. Is there anything that the commentators can do to improve the quality of commentary?Quote: 1. they can ask help from EPL commentators because they are little child on TV 2. I wasn't even too sure if I could interact with fellow watchers as there were not many people talking besides the commentator every few minutes.. perhaps just living up to the "live minute by minute" concept would be good 3. I think the quality is excellent, on par with the BBC. Big call, but I'll back it. I think, if anything, a little more humour could be injected - funny goings on in the crowds, anecdotes, etc - though these come through from the fans anyway. 4. Have less twitter feeds. 5. Maybe buy a Thersaurus 6. More descriptions and talk about events, universal formatting 7. More polls 8. No 9. Shorter sentences make for quicker updates. Can always press enter halfway through typing a sentence and then finish it while we all read the first part. 10. call the game rather than subjective banter 11. Nah its pretty good. 12. It is quite good now. 13. No its being all good 14. Faster, more frequent commentary. You need a play by play, not just notifications of major occurances. I'd suggest doing this with three commentators. One play by play describer, one proper commentator and one analyst. 15. No, it is wonderful 16. Let more comments through 17. No 18. More posts i guess 19. love it, don't change 20. Ben Clark should at least TRY and act less biased against Sydney. He annoys me. The quality is fine, otherwise. 21. Generally very happy , more regular comment would be nice but overall am happy with 442 22. - 23. Stream the game? 24. Maybe one from each side or something. 25. more game detail 26. Treat us like we are not watching the game, so be specific in comments, and paint a picture for us. Focus on the comments from people who do not have the privilege of seeing the game on TV 27. No . 28. more stats 29. not that i can think of. 30. Add some stats to the commentary 31. nope its all good, would just be nice to scroll through the commentary 32. No, I think you're all doing a great job. 33. I think it's fine, but I realize I'm aided by the sights/sounds of the game I'm simulateously observing. I can't truly grasp what it's like to rely on the text commentary only, but I imagine it is sufficiently informative, regular and prompt. 34. very informative 35. Not really, it's good! 36. Commentary has been of a supremely high standard considering that the commentators regulate twitter feeds and comments while commentating. Possibly a second person working on a game could provide support in these areas and allow more in-depth coverage. Manpower permitting obviously 37. No I think the commentary is pretty spot on. 38. Sometimes the commentary needs to have more personal imput, actually talking about the teams and things that they are doing good/bad rather than just kick by kick updates Sat, 39. Commentators are excellent. SOME of the twitter comments are good but not all of it. ( I sometimes think we are getting half of a private conversation that Kevin is having with someone else)

10. As this service is relatively new we welcome as much feedback as possible. Do you have any other comments or general suggestions for us to improve our coverage?. If not we thank you for taking the time to take the survey and hope you continue to use our service each and every week. Thanks!Quote: 1. You guys are doing a great job, however I can recommend you have a look at the sportal version for their premier league matches as they are the gold standard in my opinion. 2. It is pretty good when I do use it. Cheers guys, TWI. 3. I'm wondering if it's an army of volunteers doing this? Would like to know more about the people behind the service if possible. E-mail at ******@******.com. 4. I'm very happy with the service. I'd rank it as one of the best on the net. Both commentators and viewers alike have a great understanding of the game, and it makes reading the commentary easier and more fun. Thankyou to whoever thought of this, may it continue long into the future. 5. I wouldn't do EPL. The BBC text is where I will still go for the EPL. Otherwise it is pretty good as it is. great work guys! S 6. No so far so good. 7. Great job. Awesome to use. 8. Loving the twitter posts. More of them would be cool. 9. try to get an expert maybe 10. Great job guys and keep up the good work, even if it seems thankless at times. S 11. Don't go the English route - got nothing to do with Australian football and becomes competition for our own progress. Please, I beg of you. No sucking on the English t*t!! 12. Socceroos coverage is terrible for a national team. EPL is over rated, I follow Bundesliga. 13. nope. 14. I watch the visual on TV, but like to have the 442 commentary running in parallel. Like the input of fans and commentators. I've entered comments but my comments rarely appear, which suggests that few user comments are getting through. 15. You do the job well. Thank you 16. Some more statistic to give us a better picture of whats going on would be good. 17. Just what I've said earlier. Cheers for the service either way. 18. nope 19. reply feature 20. its great, keep it up 21. Doing great with the text coverage, maybe if you could add in more a-league transfer rumours and things like that, but doing great as it is, keep up the fantastic work! 22. This is a great service, thanks very much for starting and continuing with it. 23. The only problem with covering premier league matches is the time the games are played (usually airing in australia in the early hours of the morning), not sure how many people will be up all the time following 24. Keep up the good work, this isn't a problem with the commentators, more a problem with the design of the commentary window. I'd use it more if it was a pop-out window. As a sub-window in Google Chrome you have to scroll to the right to see the internal scroll. There's too many windows in windows and they don't fit each other properly. 25. keep it up, good effort 26. keep the good work going four four two, keeping on trying to make this site better 27. Love The Coverage 28. The interface is clunky, too many scroll bars and sometimes you need to move one scroll bar to see another. Find a new software provider! 29. Really enjoying the coverage. Keep it up! 30. thanks for doing it 31. Thanks for providing it. As you'd be aware, without pay TV it is very difficult to find live coverage of the domestic league (unless one knows where to look, of course). Every bit helps. 32. Awesome work! 33. not sure if fotos can be included as well but that mite be an idea to give a real feeling of the game. keep up the good wrok 34. You guys do a better job than Fox Sports 35. Premier League would be fantastic!! 36. kutgw eh! 37. No point in doing premierleauge, BBC sport is fantastic for that. Spend the time and resources on our local game. 38. Thanks. The commentary is probably my favoruite feature of the website. While having the commentary on I will read the articles. Which means that when on other websites I dont read many articles as I have already read it on 442.

I think this is a good point, it's a nightmare trying to get all those scrolls right.

Had to laugh we got more responses than we usually get viewers for matches:p I'll PM KA, get him to have a look at the feedback, but I think it shows that we're doing a good job and people appreciate that. From a quick glance, it looks like most of the feedback was incredibly positive.

reckon we should get a mention on the pod to increase viewership because there'd be people who listen to the pod but don't check the website everyday
