Malita are back in the top flight of the State league, Impresive. It'll be interesting if Blacktown Sparta are strong enough to get up in to the State league Premier league in 2012, Blacktown Derby.

What happened to FC Bossy?

Good to see Nepean are back in the State League being in Div2, poor bastards got dicked hard by Penrith.

I play for Hercules, and for some reason we have a 14 team competition instead of a 12 team competition like the rest of the Clubs. Oh well, I'm not complaining.

Hurstville Zagreb survive another year of not being relegated to Div2, very lucky.

So does this mean the NSWPL will resume in early 2011? If so, any idea when the season will begin?

Na not sure why they folded i think i did hear but with all due respect didnt care that much.

As for Hercules they are def the team to beat undefeated gotta be favourites to win the league, as for Luddenham i recon theyll finish last they have no players and will be battling it out with Hakoah for bottom spot for sure :-"

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo penrith/nepean went to shit because Joe Meissner decided to take hes money and run, players wherent getting paid, he only brought that club because he wanted an a-league team for himself out there and when it turned out the license went to someone else he decided there was no point in owning nepean/penrith,

Penrith wanted to merge with nepean all along, many reasons 1 main one was nepean owned cook park which is a decent set up and as such penrith didnt have a home ground they wanted to merge with nepean for cook park and another is the amount of youngsters nepean had on there books, was like a goldmine and penrith wanted a piece of it, it mad sence for the merge to happen its just a shame it went to shit,

incorrect.....football NSW forced penrith to merge with nepean, penrith had no say in it.......now the west doesnt have a rep team for the youth, pathetic really, and when penrith were around they were always in a comp above nepeans capability......which isnt to hard, especially with tossers like todd there......

i must say its great to have melita back. hopefully they can survive their first year and build on it

yes lets hope so......they lookied great last year and led the comp for the whole year, unfortunately they had many injuries and suspensions and a few red cards during the semis...mainly rigged and poor reffing.......

Can teams get promoted to the Premier League? I've never followed the state league but the Northern Tigers are my local side. I noticed they smashed St George in the State League final 4-0 but from what I've seen the movement to Premier League is rather arbitrary.

yes they can. but its not as simple as winning the league or the final. many things come into it. such as financial ability, a track record (just look at melita for the past 3 or 4 years), and the ability of those clubs in the premier league to stay there, as well as always, politics

Its a pity its not just promotion and relegation based on direct results. The VPL has direct promotion/relegation, which I like, but it obviously does have its flaws at times.

Some clubs definately have more resourcing to compete than others in the top tiers, which will always see certain clubs either overspend or underachieve, based on whichever strategy they employ.

Taking the politics out is definaterly a must though, as any level of complexity may be seen as favouring ones interests over another.

Yeah promotion to the NSWPL is based on both league position and the financial aspect. Like if a team wins the comp but can't prove that they will be able to survive financially then they don't get promoted. Relegation from the NSWPL is the same. The team that finishes last doesn't automatically get relegated. It's based on the Club Championship, which is a combination of results from different age levels, and also on the financial aspect. It's actually a good way to operate things imo. Makes sure that the clubs can survive.

Yes they can. In normal circumstances first past the post has the right to promotion, not the GF winner.

Bonnyrigg WE won the SL premiership in 2008 and went up, Rockdale won 2009 and went up and Parra Eagles this year and went up. As long as you have ground, finances in order. Northern Tigers won in 2007 but declined promotion.

PE didn't go up in previous years because they have not come first.
