Admittedly, I didn't really get into it at all; also a bit hard when the game was by and large uneventful. Couldn't see ya though. Suppose you'd have had a jacket over your Blue Jays top. I was the douchebag in the University of Newcastle hoody sitting in the Team Sox seats behind homeplate. LOL, you couldn't have been that far away, I was just behind homeplate, a little to the first base side. Not sure if we'll get to all 3 games this weekend, but Friday night for sure.

Yep. We're in the covered section of the stand, behind home plate to the first base side. Not sure how the section numbering works. Look out for me, I'll be in a Blue Jays Joe Carter 1993 World Series throwback jersey!

Yeah wasn't sure if it was 1200 or 1600 seating. Hopefully it be upgraded so we can host group matches for the World Baseball Classic in 2013. Would be a coup for the game here to host that.
Just bought tickets. I assume you're going f1? Where abouts are your seats?

Opening game Sydney vs Canberra is officially sold out. Oh, and the confirmed capacity of BOP is 1200 seated and 600 standing.

No. I wouldn't expect so either given the numbers the league is drawing at the moment. What they're offering is at the moment quite good IMO, both in range and quality of merchandise: Majestic and New Era are the suppliers of MLB gear.

That's pretty much the price you'd pay to get a New Era cap and Majestic gear in from the States, regardless of the team. By pre-ordering you're paying an additional sum of money for shipping. Better just to wait and pick up merchandise from the ground. That way you can try the stuff on and you won't get some dickhead squashing and creasing your hat by not packing it properly.

If anyone's interested (probably not lol), Sydney's home games will be broadcast via radio/online. Something similar may be the case in Melbourne for the Aces as I think the local competition there has a weekly broadcast. http://www.triplehfm.com.au/hhh/shows/sob

@f1 Yeah that makes sense. I didn't go to any games at BOP during the Olympics, only at Homebush.
@pimpsta Yeah only a ~2000 person cap. They looked into temporary stands for an additional 700 seats for this season but isn't economical, as they'd have to sell out the stands every match at the same price as adult tickets for proper seating just to cover the cost. From what I've heard, said seating would have to come out of the club's budget, not the league's. But I suspect given the amount of interest in Sydney, the stadium will probably be upgraded after this season. That said, a 2,000 attendance is quite healthy considering Minor League clubs of similar standard (high A) average about that.

Could be the licenced capacity of the entire complex (3 fields.) They have sold all 1600 seating tickets and have just about sold all the 400 tickets for standing room. so bluesox games will have a max cap of 2000 people?

I was thinking about that after I posted the link. I went back to Austadiums and most of the information on BOP is outdated, like it mentioning the Claxton Shield of 2006. I think 5000 must have been the capacity of the main field during the Olympics. At the time they had temporary stands down both foul lines.
